To be clear, any solid finishes, if they did them, would be non-returnable (as in the past)

Actually ...the way he is holding this Guitar indicates that he is subconsciously thinking about a 22 Fret Model.

Doctor Turn wrote:Still sort of bizarre that they'd insist on putting a highly decorative top under a straight solid paint job without BBE. I don't think I've ever heard of something so strange out of a custom shop. The could just r-e-a-c-h for a plain piece of nice maple, but they, I guess, just won't do it.

I could see if they insisted on trans and clear finishes only. Then you've got a model that they insist on making look like a crown jewel. But since you can paint it flat, it's kinda... weird.

But, nobody's forcing anyone to buy anything, so....

Very true on everything you said.

I guess it goes back that old argument that this is not really a custom shop compared to the traditional high end boutique shops. This kind of craziness would not happen in those...at twice the price of course

Here's what I'm confused about. The specs say "2.6" thick at center of body, 1.5" thick at edge" a 1.1" difference. That's a hell of a carve! It also says the top is 20mm thick. That's less than 1.1", and that's not counting the .25" of clear edge they leave. The top would have to be like 1.35" thick for those measurements. Am I missing something or is there a misprint?

I noticed this as well and we still don’t have an answer as the product page is still the same. I’m guessing it’s a typo but someone with a SH6 could answer this question. It appears that the extra thickness is in the body depth itself, but I am curious as to the thickness of the top verses a CT
SH6 38.25" long, 12.7" wide body, 2.6" thick at center of body, 1.5" thick at edge = from edge to top center body 1.1”
CT6 37.8" long, 12.7" wide body, 2.03" thick at center of body, 1.5" thick at edge = from edge to top center body .53”
