Ok here's my build

Postby rock-lobster » Fri Nov 24, 2017 2:53 pm

Vader V6
-Hipshot trem
-Thicker Neck
-Mahogany body
-Chambered body
-Figured walnut top
-5 piece mahogany neck w/ maple stripes
-Rosewood board
-Stainless medium jumbo frets
-Tung oiled neck
-Holdsworth pickups

Only thing I'm debating is to add a middle single coil, and whether I want white or black pickups. Hoping to aesthetically get as close to this guitar as possible

Think I might prefer it this way. Quick mock up with the white pickups

IMO add the center single coil....if it's there u can use it....if it's not, you can't.....and if it's there, u don't have to and have the option.

I'd keep the pickups black and not put in the middle single coil unless you plan on using it on its own. If you're looking for single coil type sounds from the 2 and 4 positions, you can wire an HH guitar to isolate the outer coils together in position 2 and the inner coils together in position 4 and it's very jangly single coily, though not completely Stratty.

Hoping to aesthetically get as close to this guitar as possible other than preferring the standard dots.

Order placed! Pretty excited.

My only hang up right now is that apparently the thicker neck is an option 50. Didn't see that coming and am a little worried about that. I've never played a headless Carvin before and have no idea if I'll like it. At this point I suppose I'm just going to not think about it until I receive it in a few months.

Figured claro walnut

Postby Grant Mussman » Fri Apr 13, 2018 5:00 pm

Hey, can anybody help me out. I’ve been trying to figure out how to order an Aries 6 with the Claro walnut top, but the only option on the form in for the standard walnut. Where do I need to go or who do I need to talk to to order the figured walnut?

The online builder is terrable and needs to be addressed. It has always been limited and inaccurate.

Call the number above. Talk to any of the sales guys. That one is pretty easy if it can be done. (sometimes they do not do things on some models for practical reasons inherent to that model.)
This one sounds like a no brainer. Make sure you ask about the trial period. I am pretty sure if you disqualify for the ten day they make it clear. Think of any other questions. I like to ask them if there is anthing they see that they would do differently.
Stuff like that.

Good luck
