Mystique Kiesel Edition Fretless Vader - video of me working out a riff

This is only the second time I've been able to play since June, due to health issues. Some of my health issues are in partial remission, and I was inspired/motivated by a post from Atom Lung in the Kiesel FB group to play. The last time I played anything was in November, when I played my Carillion bass for 10 or 15 minutes. Today, I was able to get in about 30 minutes. Totally wiped out, but I've got a 3 or 4 hour chemo session coming up today where I can rest.

So yeah, I'm a mediocre player, but I enjoy playing, and like Jason Becker, I ain't dead yet.

Man, with those pants on you gotta rock !

Sucks your not well. I know how draining it can be sometimes.Good news on the partial remission anyway.
I am not in remission, They call it smoldering. But, you gotta take any good news when you can get it. Hope you feel well enough to jam more soon enough.

It is tuned to AEADGCF.

AEA on the low strings allows for super easy one finger power chords.

CF on the upper strings is because I prefer perfect fourths tuning over standard tuning. I also like perfect fifths tuning, but you'd have to have a crazy fan/multiscale to get a 5ths tuned 7 string to work.

It is with a great sadness that I must announce the death of my brother Greg Barnett, serious Kiesel fan, and excellent musician. Greg, who commissioned among many other Kiesels, the Vader "Mystique", died of complications from cancer on August 12th. If you are so inclined - please play something hard in his memory.
