Kiesel Bass designs as guitars?

Postby MarshallTSL » Sun Dec 10, 2017 6:05 pm

Guys,

Am I the only one who thinks that the Brian Bromberg and the Icon would make jaw-dropping 6/7/8-string guitars?

This has been raised relatively recently. That is, no you are not alone.

It's also interesting they have so many more guitar models and put seemingly less effort into the bass line (pun intended). Many point out there are fewer bass buyers.

While we're at it, I'll point out that I had an idea in the now deleted BBS section called Product Suggestions, that they should implement a simple pu pan pot on guitars, as many basses have. Bass technology is newer as the instrument is newer, and guitar technology is stuck - overall.

Gumby, I'm not sure anyone at Carvin previously read the product requests. Until it filters up to Jeff on a continual basis, with dollars in hand, I haven't seen product requests turn into deliverables.

For example, I've really wanted to get multiscale guitars my last couple of builds, but Jeff won't make angled block mother of pearl inlays for them. I know it's just cosmetics, but I really want block inlays!

I go the other way. I'd love to see a K Series or Crescent bass.

We know Kevio did (he closed my "Baritone Guitar" thread after it blew up into about 8 pages of debate and passion, then deleted it). A year later we saw a huge turn toward ERG's. No coincidence, but totally causal no. We know Mike Jones did, as he took a few ideas into the think tank.

I personally curated the crap out of that whole thread area for years. Oh well. Such is life.
