Best Guitar Stand for Vader?

Postby Chula Vista » Fri Dec 29, 2017 8:20 pm

I have two different style of stands and on both the Vader strap buttons are positioned exactly where the body would normally rest on the stand. When placing the Vader on either stand the buttons will slip off and cause the guitar to either slant left or slant right.

Anyone found a stand that works really well with the Vader's body/strap button config?

Thanks

I would love to know as well. My Vader will be arriving in the next month!

I have two Vaders and was on the search as well. The stands I was using hit the guitars right at the strap buttons and I hated that. I'm a big fan of Konig & Meyer stands, so I checked out their offerings. I ended up buying two of these:

You can actually adjust the width. I believe I have them at the widest setting and the Vaders fit perfectly.

I have something like this if you happen to have many guitars. Fits the Vader fine but honestly, I usually have it leaning up against the wall. Not sure if that's a good thing in the long run.

Pictures are always better... There are no hard surfaces to damage the guitars, everything is rubberized.

I've a regular, no-frills, standard issue guitar stand that I've bent the body prongs outward a bit. Works like a charm.

Both Vader strap buttons sit within the stand prongs and, to be honest, it's more stable than a guitar that doesn't have the 2 buttons as my Vader simply will not slide laterally while in the stand (it's impossible as the stand prongs are outside both buttons - the body wings of the Vader are plenty wide to hold her in place on the prongs too).

I've old stands with ancient surgical tubing (80s/90s version) and I don't use them cause the old tubing rubber is too oily and the guitar just slips right off it either direction - if I wanted, I could still use this old stand for my Vader based on the above mentioned setup.

Takes a tiny bit more attention than other guitars when setting it on the stand but then I've learned the hard way over many years of using all types of stands to be cautious and always make sure anything I set down is secure/stable.

Mine is also a V8 so it's a bit wider too.

I considered the shorter headless type stands but they didn't seem like they would be as vertically stable as the regular ones if bumped on accident.

Thanks! I love these guitars. Vaders are like potato chips - you can't have just one!

Indeed! I'm already thinking about my next one. Cool little tip about my VM7. I was bummimg about not having a whammy and then found out my Kemper has a Digitech Whammy Pedal effect.

Set it up so that with the pedal open it's standard pitch and then fully closed is 2 whole steps down. So now I can use the pedal like it's a whammy bar on the guitar. Works great once you get use to it.

Thanks again for the stand tip. Exactly what I was looking for.

Cool tip about the whammy pedal, thank you! I've always liked those pedals but figured they were for big effects a la Satriani. I didn't know you could get a little wiggle out of them.
