So it’s a JBolt special...essentially?
DC150 M22T/M22V, DC150 M22SD/M22N
DC400A, K12B/K12N, DC600 M22SD/M22V, DC800 A80B/A80N
AE185 C22T/C22N/Piezo, AE185-12 H22T/H22N/Piezo, DC600 M22SD/M22V, DC800 A80B/A80N
CT7M KL14B/KL14N, Bolt C22T/AP11/AP11, AC375, CL450, AC275K, SB5000 J99A pups
My understanding is that it would be 24-fret. Not sure if that would mean a body like a GH3, or more like the outline of an Aries with a pickguard...or a new body closer to the Hurricane's...
Ideally it would have the HSS layout with colored pickups, the angled humbucker and three mini switches.
The Becker bolt on and both Howe models are similarly designed, they have a neckplate. So no to the Aries idea. The G3 seems the natural choice as the starting point for this new model.
What was the scale length on Jason’s guitar? If 24 3/4 , I doubt they would keep that aspect. Based on shape and pup and bridge placement, I’d say that it is a shorter scale than 25.5.
This wouldn't be replacing the JB models that are already offered would they?
Saving up for:
JB100 White/White w/ Black Hardware
JB100 Blood Red w/ Black Hardware
SCB6C Jet Black w/ Gold Hardware
DC700C White/White w/ Gold Hardware
K7H Deep Red Flame w/ Black Hardware and Binding
DC700H Deep Purple Flame w/ Gold Hardware
That post from Jason Becker is they only information I've seen about it from anyone who might actually know something.
24 fret maple neck
angled back headstock
hss rout with the h being slanted
Not too different from a blue GH3 really.
Interesting. The Hurricane headstock is very similar to the Aria Pro II headstocks of the same era.
Does anyone know if Hurricane was part of Aria Pro II?
It will be interesting to see if it has a pick guard as Jeff has stated that he dislikes pick guards.
