I haven't been here for a while, but I used to be called" I need more cowbell" and was posting on and on about my new CT3M and CS4M but never posted any pictures for a long time as I had no camera at the time. The pic above is the guitar in question I have had many pickups in and out of the neck, I even drilled a hole trough the control cavity by accident putting in a switch for a duncan p90/humbucker/single coil pickup all in one. People were giving me the business and somebody coined the term "cowbelling" to mean yapping about but with holding picture of ones gear.

Wait a minute! YOU, sir, are the ORIGINAL cowbeller, for whom the term was coined?

Its very easy to take apart the tuner and put it back together. I had to do that to switch a 3x3 set to a 6 in-line. You can just remove the tuner and loosen the screw in the tuning key head. Then see if maybe the locking pin may be loose inside, but I'm just guessing.
...
and welcome back! 8)
Then again, the locking pin is not in the turning mechanism, but connected with the locking knob. I don't recall if they can be unscrewed all the way out - I think I may have done that once?

Does it seem to be all of the tuners or just one of them? Have they always rattled? I'd try to isolate the problem. Sperzel has good customer service.

As to the tuners... sometimes I've heard a rattle and it just turned out to be the big nut (on the same side of the headstock as the Carvin logo) coming a little loose.
But you've probably checked that already...

It seems to be more than one, but I really can't tell?! I have checked the tightness of everything and that is all good. I have tried tapping to try to narrow it down, and holding the head stock by my tin ear and shaking it and I hear the rattle, but no pinpointing it. I will say it seems like when playing the g string might be the culprit, but then I am not sure... :shock:I even removed the truss rod cover to check the rod and all is well there.
