Johnny Hiland Model Not to be?

Postby Sheldonkornpett » Wed Mar 21, 2018 5:12 pm

Saw the live Facebook feed. At the end seems Lima it may not happen.

Still at work, so I haven't watched it yet. Is it just that they are working together with the existing models?

Someone asked if the model was forthcoming and he said "we'll see". He went on to say that the age of a specific signature model in general for any guitarist was over. He then stated that it was conceivable for the to be a limited edition model. Not sure what is going on.

I've got no problem with there being no signature model, so long as they don't lose Johnny as an endorser.

 Maybe some aspect of it cannot be mass reproduced (specific hardware sourcing, finish, ???) ?
Or maybe he got hooked on the Vader?? :ninja:

I hear that, it is fugly. The concept executed better, maybe. Funny they handed it to someone visually impaired.

Ohhhh that's why he likes telecasters. 8)

Kidding aside, I actually didn't know that about him. On topic: I never got the logic of some of the Kiesel sig models anyway, the ones that are just a variation of an existing model, the the NZ, LM or CC. The ones that have their own body shapes like the Holdsworths, CL etc I get. So if Johnny likes one of the basic models enough that he sees no reason for a sig model, I'm totally behind that. Its already a custom shop so, I think it sends a great message for a major artist to say "these guys already make it the way you want it. Everything you get from Kiesel IS your signature model!"

I totally 100% agree with that. Give an artist a special package of upgrades, or maybe a signature unique brige like the Tele ashtray or something...but a whole model? No thanks...

...which is interesting, because that's counter to the discontinuation of the AC275, ST300, limiting the JB200C to only the "bluey" spec, etc.

I would prefer it if Jeff was offering those signature packages as a option within the line like the Neil Zaza.
As opposed to cleaving the entire line and leaving only a signature shadow model with limited options.

Oh man, I didn't even think about that angle of it. I hate that I laughed as hard as I did, but I laughed pretty freaking hard at that.

on Johnny's recent feed he does, he showed the "whiskey" Solo and stated it was the Kiesel Johnny Hiland model. It would be officially introduced at summer NAMM
