I like the look. It would look great on my guitar with star inlays.
Anyone have a guitar with frets directly mounted into the inlay? Does that present any issues?
My issue would be removing the fret for a re-fret. Inlay materials tend to be hard and brittle compared to wood.
I suppose if stainless frets are used as standard, this issue would not present itself for a long time.
Just a thought.

There's usually either a tiny tiny gap of just wood around the frets, or the frets were cut with no accommodation made for easy servicing later.

Excellent point. Maybe someone with some useful info can chime in.

Hmm the Black or KRG only kinda takes the wind outa the sails for me on this option. Good though that it’s available for other builds than the crescent which I assumed it would be limited to.
The shape seems like the hard part for making it practical for Abalone or mother of pearl. Maybe Jeff could make some resin based or possibly flamed or quilted maple??? might have a wider appeal. Points for doing something different either way.

Mmmm never thought of that. Flamed maple or purple heart inlay in an ebony board. :)

Can you get more than just the one crescent inlay on the 12th?

I'd reconsider everyone of my builds with something like this.
Saving up for:

JB200C
DC700C: Purple Quilt, Trans Black Burst and Gold Hardware

This inlay option would look so sick with luminlay, I really want to see someone do that. I'm tempted to order it myself but I'm not sure how it would look on an SCB, which is what I'm putting in an order for next week.

It depends on what you mean. You can get it in conjunction with the offset staggered dots, if that's what you mean. Possibly others, too, but that's the only one I've seen photos of on IG and PB.
