Summer NAMM 2018 Predictions

Postby greyjohns1992 » Sat Jun 02, 2018 2:34 pm

I am hoping there is a new headless model! That way I can make an excuse to order another one!

You've got one of all 4 already?! (5 if you count the double-neck Osiris)

Fishmans as an available option on more models than just the Zeus/Osiris? (Even if only for non-multiscale, due to routing considerations.)

An ashtray would certainly calm down the high end in the bridge position. Those ashtrays create eddy currents that pretty dramatically affect tone. If you're after that kind of tone though, you could probably get close using a metal base plate on the bridge pickup.

Prediction: They still won't introduce the Kiesel P-90.

It's just a regular single coil on a big fat bobbin with flat head poles. What's all the excitement about??

Kidding of course. That would drop in a big piece of the puzzle, but let's face it, its OLDE SCHKOOL. The only thing remotely old-school to come out of the company in a dog's age are the Berylliums, and the jury is out on those for the most part. I'll have a set (in a guitar) in my hands in a few months, so we'll see. Hope springs eternal though.

They will release one, but only on their new DC900 9-string, and instead of a P90, they'll call it a K99. You can get black or gold pole pieces, though. ;) :stir:

SD Phat Cats will tide you over in the meantime. I know.
But yeah, they don't carry those in stock either.

I think that's somewhat smart of them. There are WAY too many companies in the aftermarket pickup game.

Bareknuckle alone makes seven varieties of Humbucker-sized P-90s and six regular-sized ones. On top of whatever all the other pickup makers are doing.

It would be cool but I don't think making P-90s would translate into more sales for Kiesel. People who REEAALLY need P90s can either send in the ones they want or just toss them in afterward.
