How do I make a good avatar?

Postby Kevio » Thu May 17, 2007 8:50 am

Well, the spammer that asked the question (just as a ruse to promote his meds site) at least asked a reasonable question before I tossed him out.

Avatars must be no larger than 100 X 100 pixels. The best way to create a nice crisp avatar is to use Photoshop, and crop your image so it's "square" (height & width proportional), then resize it to 100 X 100, then use Photoshops "Save for Web" function to save it at a quality setting of about 60.

An even easier way is to send me your picture, and I'll do it. Depending on my work load, it may take a day or two, but I'll help you out. Send it to, along with any instructions (like if it needs to be rotated).
