The son of our bass player snapped this last Friday night. I thought it was a neat picture.
And I'm holding a DC135. 8)

I like those two strands of the wig squiggling out over your forehead.. they look like freadadeak antennae sifting the air for signals from Saturn...

Holy smokes-- yes! I guess it's a good sign (if you are actually down in the area right now) that you've been able to charge up and plug in somewhere to post replies. I can't even imagine... over FIFTY inches of rain in a couple days? GTFO, that's just the most insane thing on the face of the earth. My thoughts are with you/your people and anyone else down there.

Thanks so much guys for the concern, I really appreciate it! Me and my entire family have been so blessed to have made it through this storm with no loss of life and little to no damage to property. Many others here cannot say that. Yesterday the roadways were clear enough for travel around the city. Businesses are slowly opening back up. Hopefully our grocery stores will get restocked, and normal operating hours will resume. It was great to finally get back to work yesterday after basically spending four days inside. Your continued prayers for those less fortunate, the wonderful volunteers, and the long rebuilding process are very appreciated!! Thank you so much, you guys are the greatest!!!

That's really good to hear, my friend. I hope all your bandmates are ok too-- and that beautiful vintage 70's Les Paul Signature that your guitar player owns, I hope it's safe and sound! 8) That conversation enlightened be to the existence of that guitar, which IMHO is one of the most interesting and atypical, and from what I've seen and heard, great sounding Les Pauls in the history of the line. I love everything about that axe, and as opposed to some of the things that Gibson did with Herr Lester's name over the years, many of which were just marketing ploys and angles for the short end cash, this Sig model was something that Les seemingly really believed in. It captures that spirit in the 70's of crafting the fusion/studio player's dream model, that could accomplish so many of the key sounds he'd need, and sound musical and authoritative while doing it... allowing him to cut back on the number of guitars he'd pack into the back seat on the way to the date.

What I also discovered was that there was a bass made as well:

A nice goldtop axe on sale on Verb with Les' Signature scribbled on the pickguard:

And a really atypical tobacco(ish) burst:

I'd love to own one of these eventually. The prices are pretty reasonable, considering their rarity. It's because so few are familiar with the guitar itself, and also because in the current environment these kinds of hyperversatile guitars are WAY out of style. But this period of the 70's-80's was the period of increased usability with it almost being a race to see who could get the absolute most out of their guitar models. Evidenced by this Signature model, the L6S with all it's series/parallel/split/phase variations, the LP Professional - Recording, the Carvin CM96/130/140 DC150/160, the Super Swede mixing scale length with splitters, the higher end Ibanez Artists (a la the awesome super versatile Steve Miller 2622), and others. It was just the spirit of the age--taking all of the pickup styles, number of frets on a neck, type of wood used etc.

All the band mates are ok, thanks for asking! And that vintage Les Paul Signature is fine. Wow, those guitars in the pics are absolutely pristine! The one that the guitar player player that you saw in the photo has some really cool wear spots on the body where the forearm of his picking hand touches the body. I'll try to get a pic of it next time I see it.

Thanks, Brian!
Short answer, No.
Long answer, I can't remember the last time we played outside, let alone any full sun action shots. lol.
It was probably even before I got the LB75 built, but you have made me think it may be time to try to put something together for this fall....hmmmm.
