I sure hope they don't ship it that way, lol upside down. Congrats that's a lot of great Black Limba, that fret board look great the way it ties in with the grain of the Black Limba.

I will post more photos when I get it and maybe a short video. I have a black limba fetish. I wanted a 7 string and a guitar with a zebrawood fretboard. With the combo of the two in GIS, I could not resist. It has most of the options that I wanted; the other 4 I would consider is a 20" radius (maybe), thinner neck, M bridge, and Jeff's new pickups that have not been released. Now I just need to learn to play using the extra string, well maybe just learn to play.

That thing is pretty sexy. You'll have to. Let us know what the Zebrawood is like!

I thought you were just kidding at first so I didn't reply. Now that I know, congrats, that is a thing of natural beauty. If I had the money(big if) and if it had 6 strings I may have not been able to resist either.
Lots of pics when you get it!!!!
Any eta yet?

That's what I'm still trying to do. I bought my first 7 string in Nov., I keep still picking up my six strings because I'm so used to 6. I brought my 7 and acoustic with me to visit family just so I'd force myself to play the 7 and get more familiar with it. It's a little confusing at first, you'll find out that there are some chords you'll base off the bottom of the neck and some off the top of the neck. Then working on the picking to "not" hit the B string when using the low E string.
I also got Black Limba for the body and neck of my DC700. Plays really nice and love the 25.5" scale, I'll have to get more in that scale length.

Based on how few GIS guitars there are currently, I'm guessing some people got a few nice guitars for Christmas!

These two are pretty nice. Dig the BBE on the TL. Also, I've said it before, but nothing shows off the contours of the carved tops like the solid metallic paints.

Especially because with the paint, they look extra "horny".

Ok so "she" is home. I haven't give her a name yet but I am thinking Electra. I have been playing on and off all afternoon. I am still recovering from the flu so I have a kitchen pass for the day.

Tone: I love it. I was worried that I might not like the tone as I do not like rosewood on a fret board. I have never played a guitar with a zebra wood fret board but was I surprised. It is awesome to me and feels almost like my BEM on my Holdsworth. I may get a new Kiesel bridge pickup or custom wound SD perpetual burn but as for now I am still learning and I am trying some alternate tunings.

The photos that Carvin took are probably just a as good or better than I took but here are a couple.

The framing was done by a local shop. It had that primal vibe going and the guy nailed the colors I think. I wish it was velour as that would really look cool.

That is a really beautiful guitar and I think the zebrawood goes so very well with the black limba. I'm also loving the wall of thunder, with the killer looking cabs and great amps. I wasn't aware that the picture is a Becker painting and I was going to comment that i thought it was really cool! I'd like to have something like that for my man cave.

Cheers,
