I brought a picture over for the lazies, as that is incredible.

Sorry to dig up a dead thread, but I was surfing around the internet and came across this picture of the Marshall Islands. I was immediately reminded of this guitar. I think Carvin nailed it.

 Wow! Thanks, dvlsadvc8t! That's such a beautiful comparison! Makes me love my guitar even more as if that were possible. Carvin did do an amazing job on this finish!

Just a kick ass finish, with it's own aura and mystique to it.

HOLY WOW

Always been one of my favorites. Along with the other Blue/White Quilts on the first page of this thread. Also like the Antique Brownish looking one with the thin white burst on another page. Gonna be hard not to copy on my 7 string order later in 2013 [aka 27" time lol] but I'll think of something. I think my DC127 was the first "all satin matte" order if I remember correctly...

Anyways, the way the above burst is applied, in other words the width of the white and how the blue goes far in to the bout making a thin point and following the bodies carve, is my idea of just right. I will probably pay the extra to be able to send Carvin a pictures of this guitar as an example of how I want my burst applied.
[2] DC7X 27", Loomis 26.5", S7G 27.5", Walden CE550, Ibanez 7 nylon string.
My Kiesel wish list - All 7 strings. All 27" scale option.
New symmetrical V7X, X227X, TL7X, C77X Bolt [smooth heel]
Semi-Hollow CT7. Head or Headless [CODA's photoshop]

Yeah that white burst over the blue is eye catching. It looks as if the guitar is wrapped in a neon light. Would like to see some more pics of that guitar, very unusual.

Insert mad scientist laugh

I got it. I know what I am going to do on my 7 string order finish. I actually think Carvin will do it too!

Gawd I hope I can afford it haha

Here's an unusual burst that shouldn't be > Crimson Red w/Sunsetburst. Should be a standard burst finish offering Redburst.

The pics don't quite grab the really nice subtle burst edge fade. I think it's often people go with blackburst on red for obvious reasons but may be hoping for something less dark, which this is. I've seen one Carvin like this before which was a DC145 somewhere out there that had this. Loving this guitar,.. a lot!

I love the idea of sunsetbursts on top of other colors!

I was seriously considering one over antique brown, but couldn't find any pics. The blackbursts are just too dark... the reddish overlay adds some real depth.

I dunno about tellin' till I place the order ha. I always kinda hated that guy who did the Ultra V with the Holdsworth headstock I blabbed about before ordering one lol. Can you keep a secret and I'll PM it to you?
[j/k about hating the guy btw. Given the range of "WOW" NGD's around here obviously lots of people with vivid imagination at this forum and a company willing to accomodate us]
