Now that is very cool! I never imagined a bolt C66 Hybrid... It makes me wish more and more that Carvin would give us a H H, and H S H pickguard option from the factory. I applaud your originality!

Great build.
I'd go all black with the pickups. I have cream\black twinblades and don't care for the look of them much.

Thanks DB, I like the look personally but the neck TBH in black may stay not sure, but the center S60 as black is of course staying. The Bridge C22B is gonna stay black/cream, looks good on the white PG and I can't bear ALL Black, nope. But I know what you're saying on too much black/cream, it's a borderline look, but the black is working for now, but the zebra TBH is on way, since they missed it, I'm calling 'em on it. Still the black does look good.

Thanks Pastor Dude 8) glad I could stir up some GAS flare-ups :stir: that's yet another very enjoyable piece of the build process, the potential for inflicting ACG -Acute Chronic GAS on fellow Carvinites,.....

my work is done for this year :P :woot: and it's given me GAS for a TLB60 for next year :?

Great choices Roy! And that BBE just frames the whole thing beautifully. Well done!

Great build, Roy! I started the day looking at your pics but I didn't have time to comment. Here it is at the end of the day and I've got to tell you I thought of this guitar throughout the afternoon. I'm really taken by the maple top and the BBE - the cream on the bridge zebra pup blends so well with it. Speaking of the BBE, I don't remember seeing it on a bolt with a pickguard recently. It adds a really nice dimension - kinda like bling but with an earthy natural feel.

Yup, my friend, I'd say you have a winner here! Enjoy it and may it bring you many years of :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :!:

Thanks Coda and S.Dakota 8) as far as i know Coda this is the 1st Bolt to be done with BBE, that's why you're not recalling seeing one recently :) ANd I agree, the BBE is the understated earthy look not-blingy-bling (well described) as I'd hoped. They outdid themselves on my request for a nicely grained plain top. I wanted character and natural random grain, this one is bookmatched/pattern and almost a plain-wave grain (vs. a flame or quilt figured top). Like a new class of figured top  just plain :shh:

THe only thing missing is the neck TBH was supposed to be Black/Cream (its on the way, and I think it will get swapped). A touch of that was supposed to be there to balance the look out, but the black TBH looks great in there too. And you're right, going to dig this one for years.

Between this and my SC and TL how can I justify more builds ?

wait what was that stupid nonsense ?? :wall:

Roy, that is absolutely gorgeous.

It's a very classy, vintage look that somehow manages to look like a 40-year-old NOS guitar.

Well done! :applause:

^^^ thx you 2 :)

Hey Zaphod, welcome, I like the NOS vintage classy thought  I lean toward understated, and it did that while looking pretty sharp. I see you've got a CT6 on the way, good deal  make sure to get us eye-candy shots, we're ravenous for eye-food GAS fuel around here you know...

SPeaking of pics, I'm thinking Page 2 needs some shameless repost of pics
