Ever wander around the wreckage of a big fire where there were lots of plastics melting and pooling around soft steel of household items?

Me neither, but it conjures up the image of plastic kitchen cups melted around eyeglasses and spoons and whipped cream air canisters. (Whip Its, gods gift to teens of the seventies and eighties)

Yet, the builder says raw tone can only be had with ash.

It's because that used to be the case when it launched. It also says "goldtop" is only available on tops only (or something like that), and there's something that shows up as "anniversary" headstock and that doesn't even reference the 70-th K series, but the DC400A and LB75A from way way back.

You can get raw tone on anything. The point is to have a thin finish, which still gives your guitar some color and personality, but also theoretically allows the wood to vibrate more. For a "raw tone". It also happens to look cool on wood with porous grain structures. But you can get it on Alder or Maple, too.

That silver burst up top is absolutely freaking epiphanous. I'd rather not talk about the NY Islanders burst on that Zeus, tho'.

Worst case of fret-sprout I've ever seen.

I know, right? Looks like he's poked his finger and bled on the 12th fret. ;)

Has he shown the top for that one yet? I have a feeling that fretboard isn’t the centerpiece of the ensemble, especially if it’s for himself
Kiesel basses, lots of pedals, nothing wrong

An H-H GH3. Only took a year since the announcement at last NAMM to see one.

Something about this combo of finishes shouted "suhr" to me for some reason.

the really weird thing about that comment is that when I picture the stereotypical Suhr, I picture those solid koa Moderns, inevitably because they were the first instruments that caught my eye.. and yet for some inexplicable reason, I have no idea why, but when I picture the company logo, I see it in that exact lavender color. Kind of wild how you associate that color with them too.

Maybe their amp logos are/were at one point, that color?

It's not that, when I think of Suhr, I think of a guitar that looks like this...but I've seen quite a few Suhr's that reminded me of this a bit.

Not saying this is "the one" I'm thinking of, but it's in the ballpark, and one I could find on a just-a-couple-of-seconds-to-find-one-close-enough-for-the-purposes-of-the-comparison google search:
Image

Like...when I think of "Ford", I think of F-150 pickup truck. But if I saw a car that looked like a GT40 or a Mustang, I'd still say it reminded me of a Ford. :)
