Black limba on the body, is my guess...maaaaaaybe plain Koa and they got lucky with a stripey piece. Finish could just be cherry burst, but could be a custom finish.

Can anyone tell me what the top wood and stain are on this Zeus? It's gorgeous!

Something about that sparse and globby figure tells me koa, I think spud is right. Korina/black limba is usually stringier with a scribbly look, mahogany usually doesn't do weird stuff like that, but koa is all about wacky left and right turns out of nowhere. My guitar is rife with that kind of unexpected figure.

According to the "official" answer to the question on the original post of this Zeus photo:

It certainly looks better than my AC375 in the same wood and finish. I believe it's from the early 2000s.

Mine is much more "muddy" in grain and color.

Also, OMsong mentioned a topwood, but my eyes are probably deceiving me because I'm just seeing a carved slab without a top. Am I hallucinating?

I think he just mispoke. Definitely looks like a solid body. Likely two piece, but it could definitely be a one-piece.

I think you are right! I didn't notice that. Holy Cow, solid Koa - that's worth a goldmine (and probably cost one, too)!

I'm strangely drawn to this koa(koa?)/purpleheart solo...not one I'd spec, but certainly one I wouldn't kick out of bed for eating crackers.

Not sold on the headstock, though.

I imagine even if they are saying 9 to 11 weeks, there will be quite a few at 12-13 not necessarily a high percentage, but a not-insignificant quantity.

I’ve been trying to like the Crecent for a while but I just prefer the Fastback on the CT.

That NS1 Koa is pretty smoking though
