This might literally be the best $700 brand-new bass guitar for sale in the world. If it was gloss, or if I didn't already have some Carvin/Kiesel basses, I'd have a hard time not just grabbing it. Pretty amazing deal...

Looooove the black headstock. :)

This thing looks like a lot of fun! No, it doesn't have tung oil on the neck, but it's satin and that's pretty darn good too. :)

Actually this one seriously ticks me off.

I believe it's the same one shown in instagram :

"NOW flamed maple necks are a cool option"

As in "too bad for those who ordered this expensive option in the past your neck will not be stable because it doesn't have the carbon rods".

I get it that they want to promote the newest and greatest, but I feel they are starting to accumulate this kind of faux-pas that are a bit of a sour taste for long term supporters of the shop.

Well, let's see. Maybe, in all sincerity, it is a set of language arts problems (as we see here with errors in spelling, capitalization, punctuation, grammar, and sentence structure) leading to a mistaken notion. Perhaps these are actually two sentence fragments, and the two fragments are not linked at the level of a central idea. That is, perhaps we should read it as follows:

"Now we are putting dual high-strength carbon fiber rods in every neck."

"Flamed maple necks are a really cool option."

Rather than, "Now that we are putting l dual high strength carbon Fiber rods in every neck - Flame Maple necks are a really cool option", understood as "Now that naturally unstable flamed maple necks have dual carbon fiber rods it's safe to order them, as it was not safe previously."

I'm going with believing this is a language arts problem, rather than sales hype.

People have been asking for neck binding forever on the Q&A. IMHO a treated board like this naturally results in a binding effect. Similar to BBE on a painted top. Maybe Jeff could mention that the next time somebody asks about neck binding.

I missed this one, it went fast! It's just like the one ordered buy a guy I follow on Instagram, he waited months for his and modeled it after Jason's sticker Pearl Purple Carvin. They must have made two of them.

Those that ARE there, occasionally, seem to get sold pretty fast. :ninja:

This pain scheme was originally what I wanted to order (satin black top, clear sides and back), when I customized and ordered my Icon 5, two years ago. However, they wouldn't do it without a top and I didn't want a top. I still don't like tops, but this thing looks so good:
