I'm almost sure that's the effect created by the larger shadow of the bass side strings casting a fat shadow vs the high B and E.

Still not a big fan of that Fire finish, but it's a nice axe for sure.
Carvin Weaponry:

...and other gear.

Yeah, it's still not for me, but it looks much better in maybe "living room lighting" (like in this video) than in the bright studio lights or sunlight.

Hipshot offers all their hardware in Chrome and Gold. Why does Kiesel STILL not. Especially the A-Style bass bridges.

And while I'm griping... WIDEN THE DAMNED NUT WIDTH ON FOUR-STRING BASSES! The Fender Precision Bass is only the most popular bass in the world! Its neck spec is a part of the reason why!

Yeah that's freaking nice. Perfect, subtle use of the offset topside/bottomside beveling.

Its my old Vader
https://www.kieselguitars.com/guitars-in-stock/139070

The logo is now black, instead of gold. So I'm assuming they re-did the paint, to make a smoother tape line. and Hopefully they re-tapped and straightened the jack plate.

Dots are still listed as black :wall:

It also has dual coils now. I wonder if the original warble/tone issues, was actually something wrong with the single coil pickups I originally ordered it with.

THAT might be the coolest friggin Crackle Axe I've ever seen. That's just perfect in terms of making that effect seem like a part of the finish and not just a gimmick after effect.

I'd like to see a 2V2T control set that starts in this position. Other than that, this guitar is just almost perfect.

Interesting neck finish. Apparently it also has the three-piece body option... I don't believe I've seen that on a semi-hollow carved top Model before... But of course these photo angles don't show it.

Looks like everything flamed maple was given the color treatment, and everything not (the back) left natural. Curious why the back wasn't given some color ... deep red, or whatever the dark "lava" color is? :?:
Ah, I see the options specifically state RNC.

Not gonna lie... This one is pretty damm cool. At first I thought it was a waste, but I've come to appreciate the attention to detail of adding the black layer 3 PB. While you won't really see it on the base side of the guitar, by the main bevel, you do pick it up on the lighter side of the body and I think it's sort of neat that that black line will actually seem to extend from the darker side of the body.

But for the price, there are others I would rather have.

If I got my choice of any 3 in-stocks right now, this would be the 3rd:

(the other two would be these two:
https://www.kieselguitars.com/guitars-in-stock/115366
https://www.kieselguitars.com/guitars-in-stock/K123 because it would be one of my 6 Carvins/Kiesels, and by that point I think everyone would need to have one ridiculous over-the-top art piece, and this one is my favorite. :-p)

I like that Koa AE185 you mentioned Spud, it’s a beautiful guitar. My AE185K is still one of my favorites. It’s just so light and comfy.
