if they could guarantee that the crackles would be more like this size, then I'd be way more into it. Some of the other ones they've posted have much much finer "grain", and folks asked if they could have the pattern larger, and they said they couldn't really control that (yet?).

I love the patterning on the back of the neck heel area. :applause:

I occasionally see one I dig, but mostly it's just not my thing: I'd never buy a guitar w that finish.

And yet--I'm sure this statement surprised nobody!

This one's pretty sweet. Apparently it's not Honeyburst, but Daisy Yellow with Brown Honeyburst Edges. I really wish they were better about communicating how this is different...but either way, it's a cool looking guitar.

If this was by own build, I think I'd be disappointed if I paid for quilt, but with seeing it first and a discount, it looks great.

I even dig the covered, direct mount 7-string pickups...if I played 7-string.

...and I like the strapless bra in the figuring beneath the string-thru stop zone.

That cracklin V........ Not crazy about the maple board. Something darker with MOP or abalone blocks would have made it irresistible to me!

Then there is this thing. NOT irresistible! I like all the colors individually but together it's a mess. IMO.

For what it's worth, there were 4 last week, and they are already down to just 2.

Maybe it's just that the model is so popular there's no need to publilcize it. Makes me feel better to think that, anyway.

When they show up, they tend to go quick, so there's that.

Several really nice CS's in stock right now. The honey bursts and the candy red one are pretty gorgeous guitars.
Alas, any of them greatly exceeds the skully budget. :( It's fun to dream, though. :)

The candy red one was mine, I just didn't gel with it. It was beautiful, and every time i check the GIS and see it in there, i have a bit of returner's remorse.

Yeah this one is pretty sweet, although I'm not sure of the pickups (it says Lithium/Beryls and I'm not sure if it's a mix of the two?) and I would probably put a stop tail on it. Reminds me a lot of my own primo single cut, in terms of paintjob colors (though mine is a darkback) and sense of high end construction.

I really love that heastock laminate. It's really beautiful--shows off the classical beauty of the Carvin/Kiesel trad headstock and how well it matches with a classically beautiful guitar shape. Yet the Kiesel has those little touches of modernity with the royal ebony, the deep cutaway, the improved neck joint vs a trad LP (though not as far as Mark used to do it, but it's still great), and the killer maple cap which is almost a throwaway for C/K but would invoke a parade at Gibson and a 6k price tag.
