NGD! My sweet Aries!

Postby ElfDude » Sat Oct 14, 2017 11:52 am

So much thanks to Mike Jones for his help!
Some initial photos that my wife snapped during the unboxing.
Drove to the FedEx location to pick her up.

Better pics later, but for now...

Thanks!

Brief initial review.
A - B tested it immediately against my Bolt and my Les Paul with P-90s.

It's the same woods as my Bolt but SO much lighter. Wow!

Plays so easily. A truly comfortable guitar! Love it. Probably the most comfortable guitar I own.

I really love AP11s, so I've been really curious about these Lithium single coils. Some have said that they don't like the AP11s very much as far as single coils go because they're too meaty. I remember someone saying he thought the AP11s were more like P-90s than Strat pickups. Well, the Lithiums address this. They sound fantastic, but are definitely more Stratty than the Bolt with AP11s. The AP11s are just a hair louder as well, but the Lithiums still have plenty of output. They both beat my Gibson P-90s in volume. I'm really excited to have them.

Dare I say that you won't be seeing me do any pickup swaps in this guitar?

You look very happy! That's so great. Beautiful guitar and it sounds like it really stands out from your others. That's so nice when your latest instrument brings something new to your music.

Congratulations and enjoy!

That's one classy chickadee! The TrChevys have their treble clef heartbeat and visual mascot!

Glad you're digging the pups, the feel, and may she serve you well!

My experience with the new singles is right inline with your's
Glad you're digging the new fiddle - it's a cool one.

The only change I would've gone with is a black logo w/ silver drop shadow - looks sweet on a black headstock!

Understood. The only reason I went with a gold logo was that I was paying tribute to this 57 Chevy... my new band's mascot. Black, some white, lots of chrome, and a gold logo.

Yesterday evening they posted this pic. And there's my headstock.
Makes me wonder if they have more photos of my guitar.

Nah, you'll swap the bridge and the neck in the same guitar. Then you'll pull the middle p/up and put it right back in place. Just as a soldering exercise. :P

Well, you do have the AP11s covered in your blue bolt.

 What would that look like with "black magic metallic"? 8)

Good on ya. :applause:
