Order placed 9/15, received "it's ready send the rest of the cash" email 10/26, picked up from FedEx 11/1. Six week build, not bad! Jeff and his gang are cranking these little HH's out like hotcakes!

Drove 45 minutes at the crack of dawn to pick it up directly from FedEx as I didn't want it bouncing around on the truck all day + I couldn't wait!

Never thought a solid colored guitar would literally take my breath away but I'm stunned by the beauty of the finish and the figuring of the birdseye.. "Kiesel Jet Black" is an incredible color and I have no regrets choosing it over BMM.

I am an anal retentive guy and I'll be damned if I can find a flaw. Fret ends are perfect with no sprout.

I was concerned the black pups would give a "blacked out" look against the black body which I didn't want, but after many months of thought and PS mockups I decided none of the lighter colors worked so I gambled with the black pups and love the look - there is a nice contrast between the pups and finish which is just what I was hoping for. Little details..

Two years ago I bought a HH2 out of GIS and wasn't impressed - poorly balanced on the strap and it was heavy with no sonic indication it was chambered. This one is totally different, the chambering is giving me exactly what I hoped it would, it's so resonant - even unplugged. Just WOW.. Nice and light at 5lbs 5oz. The response of the bass strings is throaty with almost a growl to the tone; this is even more pronounced up toward the nut and I'm sure this will lead me toward exploration in that area of the neck that will be paying dividends for years :)

About 15 years ago I played a EB/MM Wolfgang with that famous "raw" neck finish and it remained the best feeling neck I'd ever played - until today. This one is better.

The pronounced mid-range of these pups is what I wasn't prepared for. On the bass strings it sounds like the hammer of god but the treble strings have a thin, thready tone with an almost strat-like quack. This is a very preliminary assessment of course, but I'll be working with that.

Still can't get over the balance, I'll have no need to move the button to the upper horn as I planned as there is no "forward flop" like the first one I bought and it balances perfectly.

I'll get some sound clips and pics of the electronics cavity up eventually. Kudos to all at Kiesel! An incredible instrument.

What a great story for a great guitar. That's a beautiful build, man. Personally, I think these guitars are outstanding, and with all the available options, most players could be satisfied.

Congratulations. Enjoy!

Thanks! I still can't believe how light and resonant it is. Off to buy a Hercules Mini Stand.

Congratulations on your new ultimate headless tone machine!
It is an alder body/maple (or birchwood) top combo that makes all chambered HHs sing this very specific way. Wonder what was the wood choice for the GIS build you didn't care for much? I assume direct mount pups were to no avail at that time?
I had my chambered alder body/birchwood top HH1X built back in mid 2015. That was probably the very first HH with a KH12B pickup that left then Carvin shop. What a great guitar it is!
Enjoy yours and looking forward to hearing some tone samples.

Glad you're bonding with yours. Apparently not everyone does with the headless for whatever reason. I see that the Deep Lava HH2 that disappeared from the Guitars-in-Stock list several weeks ago is now back on it. :shh:

I really like that alder/maple combo on my SH445 as well. :)
