My CL450 was always a dud. It was the first and only custom guitar I ever purchased directly from Carvin. They made a mistake on it (fret markers on wrong side of neck) but I didn't return it immediately because I was traveling and excited to have a new guitar and thought I would eventually adapt to the mistake. I didn't. Then, years later the clear coat finish clouded up on me so it now looks like a garage-sale guitar, and of course Carvin did nothing to remedy it besides almost say "sorry". I'm usually too embarrassed to take pictures of or show off that one, but I guess from this angle you don't notice.
The Cobalts have held up great and gotten better with age, which is why I picked up a few more when they became available, but now that I have a few you can really tell the difference between the Korean and Chinese ones.
