Nerve End - Thrive

Postby spudmunkey » Fri Mar 20, 2015 11:47 am

I don't know if these guys ever were endorsers/endorsees, and this may have already been posted, but I re-stumbled across this song, and I was reminded of how much I like it. The guitarist is playing a DC747 (I guess now it's a DC727 with an added optional middle pickup) in the video (don't know if it was used in the recording).

If you can get past the headbanging from 0:26 to 0:45 , it's melodic and powerful and I love that the lyrics aren't snarky and the vocals aren't just growly. It reminds me of a heavier version of some of the stuff from Vai's "Sex & Religion" album and some of Devin Townsend's "solo" stuff.

It's like shoegaze metal or something. Serious my bloody valentine and luminous orange vibes. I like it!

Thanks for posting that link. They have a nice blend of styles that I haven't heard before. Very cool!
