Chris Squire has Passed

Postby ElfDude » Sun Jun 28, 2015 7:16 am

According to Billy Sherwood's facebook page, Chris Squire has passed away. He's been a huge influence on me and I'm sad to know I'll never see him play again.

And now Billy has taken down that post. Perhaps he was asked to wait until the official announcement is made.

Seems to be official now. darn it. Sometimes you wish it was just a rumor.

So grateful I was able to see YES in 1984, 1991, 1997, 2000 and a couple of the recent tours with Jon Davison singing. Sure wish I could have seen them in the 70s.

Didn't see this until today. That's sad news. One of the best rock bassists ever. I was just listening to "Heart of the Sunrise" the other day-- one of my favorite bass grooves. RIP.

Here's a pic of Chris and Billy during the recording sessions for The Ladder.

Is that a BB bass Chris has?

What a great shot! Sure looks like a BB bass, doesn't it? Thank you for posting the picture. He was a lion of a musician.

In a recent interview with Jon Anderson he said about Chris, "He used to say he was the Darth Vader to my Obi Wan, but I saw him more as the Christopher Robin to my Winnie The Pooh."

Something like that... quoting from memory.
