That's okay...we haven't got a date set yet. I can work around it. You and Peb aren't getting out of it THAT easy. 8)

BTW...congrats...

T-Bone,
Are you still in contact with Jamie and Shane? You might give them a heads up as well as Grem, CoolJay and Carvinaddict.

OK, I might as well get the set lists started.
I think that playing tunes from the last three bashes along with a few new ones may be the way to go.
Everyone jump in and give your suggestions, opinions, requests, etc.
Here's what I've got so far:

Classic Rock Set:
Martian Boogie-Brownsville Station

Hard Rock/Alternative Set:
Voodoo-Godsmack

Blues Set:
Thrill Is Gone-BB King

Funk Set:
Play That Funky Music-Wild Cherry

Acoustic Set:
Dust In The Wind-Kansas

*NEW* Show Tunes Set: :P
Day By Day-(From 'Godspell')

And since I've accepted the role of PEB's Best Man - sort of looks like I'll be at this wedding too.

Besides, my bass drum leg has never recovered from last year...

If you're PEB's Best Man then what does that make me?
PEB's worst man? Chopped Liver? Just another bass player?

And don't worry about drumming this year, Riv. We sure wouldn't want you to get a "Popeye" leg! Especially with those shorts you wear! :laughhard:

My showing still depends on when we get a kid. That kind of sounds strange

Song recommendations:

Sunshine of your love - Cream
Living after midnight - Judas Priest
Breaking the law - Judas Priest
Rockin in the free world - Neil Young
Sin City - AC/DC

I can play them though I need to brush up on the solo for Sin City. I also forgot to mention Paranoid - Black sabbath.

Welcome, Cymbaline!
Good to hear from someone close by!
Hope you can make it too!

This sounds like fun, I'm gonna try and make it. Haven't read the whole thread yet but it sounds like y'all are picking some cool tunes to jam on.

How about some more song suggestions? These are mostly in the Classic Rock or Hard Rock vein:

Some Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb, Money, Astronomy Domine for example
Can't have a Texas bash without some ZZ Top - La Grange, Tush, Heard It On The X
King's X - Over My Head, Pleiades, Dogman
Jimi Hendrix - Voodoo Chile, Fire, Purple Haze
Led Zeppelin - Black Dog, Rock And Roll
Robin Trower - Day Of The Eagle, Daydream, Bridge Of Sighs
Ted Nugent - Stranglehold

Not necessarily ALL of these, but they're all great jam tunes. What do you think?

OK! Sounds like some good stuff!
I definitely would like to do "Fire" and "Day of the Eagle", "Stranglehold" sounds good too.
I'll have to brush up on my playing to get through the other more difficult stuff that you mentioned.

That's cool, I didn't think they were all that hard, sorry about that!

Actually, for Stranglehold, I'll have to brush up on that myself. It's definitely doable but I never bothered to learn all 8 minutes of the thing.

Are we going to have a drummer come to the bash?

No guarantees yet on a drummer (or two) for the bash. I'm trying to reach the guys that came two years ago...they were great.
