San Francisco/ Bay area Carvinite bash

Postby SomeRandomDude » Thu Jan 24, 2013 4:16 am

Hi everyone my name is Walter Alvarado. Many of you guys/gals know me as SomemeRandomDude. SomeRandomDude is my artistic persona; that I use when I draw lol. I origiinally had made an attempt to hold a carvinite gathering, but it didn't work out. I feel like I wasn't ready; and I apologize for any inconvenience it may have cost . I think its best, not to rush into things. Lets aim for sometime in the summer. I would really appreciate that. I have never actually played a Carvin but am completely sold on the amazing idea! My influences are Jeff Beck, Chuck Schuldiner R.I.P, Tony Iommi, and Adrian Smith. Although, I'm pretty open minded when it comes to music and influences. I cant hold it at my place; the neighbors complain about the noise as it is lol. I would really appreciate it we could hold it someones house. I can't travel very far right now though. (I'm in college and don't have a car.) I can make special accomadations, as long as its not to far away. Again lets not rush this gathering. I would really appreciate this. For more information on my influences and in my honest opinion an amazing story of persevearance and faith check out my band Sacred Queen. We are on youtube and Reverbnation. Thanks again. As Chuck Schuldiner would once say "Keep the metal faith alive. "
P.S sorry about the long message.

I'm down, long as it's anywhere other than the south bay. East, north, or city are all in range for me.

Alright cool dude. Thanks for the response. What kind of Carvin gear do you have? Also do you know a place where we could hold this bash? I'm asking this because I really have no idea where to hold this bash.
Thanks again for the response.

I've got one guitar (H2), and a bass amp/cab. Lol, I'm not a gear collector, just a gear lover :)

As for location... no idea! I don't have a place to jam. Let's see who else responds, then maybe it will just be a beer night, or a descent upon a local blues jam, who knows!

I'm in Hayward, a bit south of Oakland, near BART/580 I've got an SH575, a walnut LB75F, a Fatboy, and a DC400. For amps I've got a pair of Legacies, and most of the non-reissue X100 family (many need work).

Sounds like a great idea. We don't need to worry about a location yet. Let's see how many people are interested, and then start hunting (begging) for a venue.

Oh, I've got just the one Carvin - a DC127 I found on Ebay. I'm a beginner who's got a lot of work to do before I'm worthy of this instrument. :wall:

I"m in the East Bay - Newark.

I having a bass event in Boulder Creek on Sunday May 4, Thunder in Boulder Creek II. Not specifically a Carvin GTG but a bass player GTG. Since my SB5000 will ship on March 20 I will have it there. There is a thread for the event in the Talkbass Social Event/GTG section: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f158/thun ... i-1058751/

The GTG in Boulder Creek was a lot of fun with great players and top notch equipment. With all of th great players and high end basses there my Carvin SB5000 was a bit hit. One attendee even called it the "bass of the day".

Why not have it at Guitar Center Studios in Emeryville? Studio rental is cheap (18 bucks an hour). They come complete with amps and a PA, or you can bring your own amps.
