Wisconsin Carvin wannabe

Postby spriem » Sun May 11, 2008 9:02 pm

Would anyone in the (Miilwaukee/Waukesha) or SE Wisc. area be willing to let me spend 5 minutes on their Carvin (preferrably DC400) before I buy one. I'm aware of the 10 day garauntee.

I'm new at guitar playing (4 months).

Don't have the space for 5 guitars and cases so I wanna buy just one guitar. The DC400 has a lot of features and seems versitle, so it is the fore-runner.
How do PRS, Les Paul, and Music Man copare???

You can try my DC400 if you can get to the Minneapolis area. I've got several other Carvin guitars as well (as you can see in my signature), plus an SX300, AG100D, PM15A's, and a X100B amp to play with. Sorry I'm not closer but I figured to lay out the offer being as you didn't seem to get any others from your area. Let me know!

I'm in Wisconsin, but closer to Minneapolis than I am to Milwaukee.

So, if you ever find yourself over this way (Menomonie, Eau Claire...although I'm even about 40 mi from Eau Claire), you could rummage through my Carvin stuff.

I have a Bolt + (kit), a CT4M, and LB20 and B4 basses. Along with a Bel Air and AG100D amp. Oh...and a Cobalt C980 acoustic. Along with a couple non-Carvin guitars.

However, I don't have any version of a neck-through, so I probably wouldn't be of much help with your decision about the DC400. I have at one time owned several (DC145, SC90, AE185), but couldn't bond with the neck through/24 fret guitars.

Elizug,
Two questions regarding the guitar in this photo:
1. Did you install the Kahler Tremolo yourself?
2. Do you like the Kahler Tremolo?

I'm not 'zug, but going by the headstock emblem (wish they still did that) thats an older model when they had Kahler trems (wish they still had them too).

You guy's are killin me, I miss the lake (Big Cedar, West Bend), I may be coming back on vac this summer but the closest thing I have is a Bolt but the neck on my AC275 is probably closer if I remember right from my DC200 I used to have.

Wow, thread resurrected from 4 years ago with a question about where is Franklin, WI. :D

When this thread was new, and I made my other post here, I had just moved to Wisconsin 6 months prior. Unlike most of my other moves, I still live here going on 5 years later. And, unlike many here, I still have those same EXACT guitars that I mentioned in that post. No more, no less. Oh, and amps, too. Same exact ones.

I guess what I'm trying to say is I have found it. All of it. The perfect place to live and the exact right gear. No more searching for any of it. 8)

Which is about as far as one can be from my house and still be in Wisconsin. (Although truly, that is more Illinois than it is Wisconsin. Just sayin'.... )

I don't smoke any more.

Sorry for the resurrection. Not usually my style. Must have been tired and didn't look at the date. Just saw fellow Wisconsinites with Carvins and got excited.
