Zebrawood vs Rosewood

How would you compare the sound of Zebrawood to a Rosewood fingerboard?

I love how Zebrawood looks, yet I will be going for a prs-esque vintage-hot sound, not sure if I should go with the safer choice (which is rosewood)?

What's the body going to be made of?

Zebra supposedly very maply in tone, very heavy and dense. Rosewood has that classic smoky blurred attack. If you want a more modern sound I'd go zebra. If more of an oozey sort of slurred vintage tone, rosewood.

Much of these subtleties can be obliterated with pickups and picking style. But starting from zero and all things being equal... the above.

I've had both on similar Kiesel guitars - zero difference for me.
Zebrawood does have a mapley vibe to it - i'd definitely agree.

I come from the camp of selecting fingerboards based on build aesthetics so YMMV.
I love them all!

I have rosewood on my bolt, another bolt with ebony, and two guitars with zebra boards, an scb7 and a vader7. The zebra feels more similar in hardness and slippery-ness to the ebony. The rosewood feels a smidge more giving. As far as sound goes, all three woods make me sound equally mediocre. I say go for the look you want.
