The pickguard cracked as I was drilling the P90 route. Ugh.

I feel like it's screaming for orange tuner knobs, and a robin's egg blue control knobs. :)

I kid you not, I've been looking for those as part of the original plan. but havent found any for 6mm solid shaft pots.

How do you like it tonally? Those pickups work and play well together?

Thirded. Especially curious on the results of a P90 in the bridge position on a strat, as it's not something you see or hear every day. In any position, never mind just the bridge position. Even the Jazzmaster has a pair of single coils that may look like a P90, but they're nothing like that (even though they're "soapbar" designs. in true Fender style the poles are mag slugs and theres no bar mag at the bottom of the assembly).

Likely going to do something similar on a Tele in the bridge, but with a "simulated" P90 in reg single coil bobbins.

1985 100 Watt X Amp 2 x 12 combo (XV212) upgraded w/ 2 Vintage 30's
...and other gear.

I finished the guitar on Sunday and I've been out of town since. So I have not played it for more than 5 minutes. Pickups are not playing well together. The P90 is RWRP and I think it's getting out of phase when combined with the others. Not sure what's going on. It may also be pup height issue. I'll report back on this.

ElfDude , you mentioned the AP11 being nice as neck. 100% agreed! Surprisingly nice. By itself. Don't like the middle AP11 (alone or combined).

I'm almost sure I'll sell all 3 APs (part of the original plan). For some reason I have never liked Carving|Kiesel pups. I'll have John Benson reverse engineering a single coil combo that will play nice with the rwrp p90.

I'll try to snap a video of it's current sound when I get home.

Please let me be the first to make you an offer on them when you're ready to sell.

I believe the middle AP11 would also be RWRP from the factory. The neck is stock, but otherwise identical. Try this: put the neck in middle position and vice versa. That way you get bridge P90(RWRP), new middle (stock), new neck (RWRP) with the proper humcancelling polarities in between.

Well, I though of doing that, but the fact that it's got a "bridge On" switch can give me neckAP11 + bridgeP90 without physically swapping. And those 2 are not playing nice together either. Unless I'm missing something...

I think it's a full swap. No matter what I do, I've never been able to smile with CarvinKiesel pups. I've swapped them on my other guitars, and now I love them much much more. Seems that'll be the case again.

Maybe its out of "phase" with the others. Try swapping the ground/hot leads? Unless its 1 of those braided ground+shield combined deals.

Yup. Thanks. That worked. Now, I'll have to actually play the guitar for a bit to see how nicely they "talk to each other".
