17 string guitar ????
Just saw this, and thought it was hilarious.
Will this be the next Kiesel? HaHa, don't think so.
Is this for real?

I think the kiddie toys and play vacuum cleaner should have been the tipoff...
So anyway--late answer to Naked Ape's question "Is this for real?"
The answer is a thunderous, resounding NO.

Well, it *is* for real, but it's from a Chinese builder, so take that as it is. It's a novelty, IMO.

Which is fine. It was ordered as a "joke" for a meme video on Jarred's channel. A splurge with his YouTube money on something for potential views. I see no problem in ordering it, and being ripped off is being ripped off, no matter who it is.

But, was he really ripped off? He hadn't received his guitar yet, apparently, but that doesn't mean he won't. If he does, not ripped off, though the seller has one heck of a markup (really, the transparency shows a markup that we usually don't see in retail settings), and the claim of who built it may border (I'd guess) on fraud, or at least can be written off as marketing fluff.
In any case, the seller is shady, and Jared is....I'll not say anything, 'cause I don't have a nice thing to say about him. As it is, I wasted more than an ample amount of time even replying to something he's a part of.

Re: 17 string guitar ????
Many folks would gladly pay $1000 for a guitar made in a certain place by a certain person, but would never even consider ordering if it was made anywhere else. Apparently he even sent photos of it in progress saying he wad still working on it, but wasn't actually, and lied about the country of origin. That's, in my opinion, crossed the "fraud, maybe" line.
"Yes, I'll personally hand build you a guitar in my shop, and my price is $1000." Is one thing. "I'll design it and have it built by an overseas factory, but lie to you that I made it, and it wasn't even made in the US." is another.
But you are right, if he gets his money back, he didn't get ripped off. But it took someone finding the guitar on another website and tracking down the origin for the builder to even mention that.

Cow, plain and simple-- he was ripped off. If you order a USA made Kiesel Bolt, and you found out after the fact you got a Squier dressed up as something else... you done been ripped off.
