I give you the Meteora, leaked ahead of NAMM: From Reverb: Two weeks ahead of the start of the NAMM convention, an image of a new guitar from Fender has leaked to the public. The new model—dubbed the Meteora—is an entirely new design from the historic guitar builder.
The guitar sports an offset body-shape similar to a Jaguar or Jazzmaster but with somewhat sharper angles. Like Fender's earlier American Standard Offset Telecaster, the pickups and control set reflect classic Telecaster appointments. The pictured guitar also features a maple fingerboard with block inlays (in the style of a '70s Jaguar), though it is possible that Fender will be releasing a rosewood version as well at some point.
There have been some other rumors of Fender's planned NAMM releases already circulating, including full details on Ryan Adam's new signature Strat. Check back on Reverb for full coverage of all NAMM releases as we get closer to the show.

I don't hate it. I kinda wish the pickguard didn't curve down to the knobs and instead stopped between the switch and the knobs...and think the bottom horn could be SLIGHTLY more pronounced, but otherwise I wouldn't kick it out of bed for eating crackers. I'd give it a shot.

Fernandes did a similar guitar a while back. I forget the name.
I dig the tele vibe. Plus is that a bevel on the top? Lol

Very Jazzmastery, thats what the Fer is riffing on for sure.
Not a bevel, just a plain old school comfort contour which Fender really made their own w the Strat especially.
I kind of dig it myself, too.

The vertigo looks cool until you turn it horizontally. It looks like you're trying to carry a turkey under your arm. It's sort of like a squashed V turned 90° clockwise.

I"ve been on a Tele kick lately. That said.....I Like it!!! I'm curious about that bridge. A new take, on an old classic.

Looks like it'll be a comfortable piece, and my guess is that it will sound super similar to a Tele, which isn't a bad thing. Love the T sound, don't care for the shape due to the harder edges, so this strikes a chord (we'll call it an Fmaj7) with me.

Overall I like it.
I could go either way on the pickguard. With or without.
The only thing I hate are the black rectangular inlays but I'm sure there would be other options. In my opinion black circles would look better.
Plus I think it could look good with a variety of bridges and pickup options.

Wouldn't the switch be in the way of palm muting? Have to say, I like the look, and the tele-ness of it.

I like the switch location; much better than the Tele, and doesn't block the controls so much (I have been a reversed control plate fan whenever I've owned a Tele).

Now that, more than anything (esp the front end), reminds me of the Hanson Cigno (which, interestingly, is a Les Paul styled build.. short scale, thick sound, mahog slab body):
