I was just looking yesterday at the web site. Slim pickins and it looked still dead. What a surprise. Then I looked at the link and it is the same. Just the vai pedal and "Gig essentials". No stacks or real pa stuff. Sounds like they are just going to make pedals and light weight stuff. Not really the same.

Kind of back, and the rumors seem to be true. I'm curious what other tube pedals will be produced. Time to hurry up and wait.

They're probably going to come out with an X100-B pedal.

Also, this whole situation is weird. They had everybody convinced they were gone for good. That can't be good for business.

Or a V3. Maybe a Vintage series? Maybe they'll pull the old MTS design out of mothballs :P

Yeah, it seems that they kept things close to the chest, which is weird.

Expect new products from Carvin Amps and Audio in 2018 including a new tube preamp guitar pedal, which is based on one of our most iconic tube amps, to be released at the 2018 NAMM Show in Anaheim, California

In order of likelihood, I think:
x100B
Quad-X
Bel Air
V3

What's interesting is if you look at the 'Clearance' section, They made a few V3s, Legacy 3s, and BX700s when they were sold out before the close. I really wish I had the money. I would swoop down and get a V3 before it's gone.

I've seen new L3s on the bay, sold by the company, for $899, so they're not all gone, but definitely not posted on their site. You could always go with a used one, but it seems people really jacked up the prices (saw a used one go last week for $1200...which is more than new).

Check their website. There's a new X1 Preamp pedal coming. I wonder what that's modeled after?

Just checked it out. Pretty cool design overall. Not my favorite amp, but the video review on site had some good clips. Cleans were what I expected. Dirt, while better than my old X100, was not what I particularly like. L3 or V3 were more in my ballpark. I'd love to see them come out with a giant footpedal that would be the V3 pre.

I would really like a V3 pedal as well.

TBH, I bought the full-bore Line 6 Helix after Carvin shut down. I no longer play out so the V3 is way too much power for the bedroom. So I use the Helix and it's headphone out direct to my 4x12 cab with V30s. It powers that cab up to what I would consider a good 5 watts. No external amp needed. It's actually a perfect volume for the bedroom. And since I'm using a real guitar cab that I like, I disable the cab models and that actually provides a little more volume still.

The downside to the Helix is there are no Carvin amp models. Nor do I expect them to offer them. They only seem to care to update it with even more fizzy Euro boutique amps that really all sound the same to me. I think the V3 has a sound and versatility that none of the others offer.

A V3 pedal would be thoroughly awesome for my purposes. The only part of the V3 I never use is the master tone section.

Of course, I also would love a rackmount preamp version of the V3 too.

Either way, I have a Mesa 2:90 amp I can always power either with if I decide to ever play out again.

Yeah, I don't see many people creating Carvin amp models. The closest I can get to an L3 is a tweaked Bogner model, which doesn't quite sound the same to my ears. On top of that, it's cool to do silent recording at times (I use an Atomic Amplifire backed by a Mastermind and passive voltage controller for quick FX access), it does not sound the same as going through a real amp cabinet, sitting in a room with all is imperfect acoustics, and having a blast...blasting away. 1W is plenty enough for an apartment. 5 is too much (had a noise complaint from using a Champ 600 once). All the same, I liked my V3m, but mostly got it to cop the sound of an L3, and while it did it, it also had some fizz going on if I wanted ultra high-gain stuff, and it wasn't in the preamp, as I tried out another preamp pedal, with the same result. The brittleness came from the EL84 stage. A pedal with the V3s preamp would be very nice, and I could line it out to my L3s power amp, or whatever I wanted, which makes sense. I wish the best for this new fledgling company :P

I saw the video and the X1 seemed alright. As a modern (non-djenty) metalhead though, I didn't hear what I was looking for. If I got this, I'd probably swap out the pre-amp tubes for Preferred Series ones.

Rambling thought: I miss the days of affordable Raytheon tubes. The secret got out, and now they're ridiculously priced, too.

I own a legacy, a v3, a x100, a quad x.

How about something new. That is a novel idea.

I personally (as in my own opinion you can do what you like) can not understand why I would want to buy a 400 buck pedal that I must push through some type of amp that had to cost something, when I can just buy the amp it is modeled after for $900 and be done. Or in the case of say the x100 I can buy used in great shape for $350 all day long.

As far as the used prices I will admit I have not spent anytime following up on sales. But things like the legacy 1 are listed for $2k but none are selling near that from what I can tell. I still have 3 working and several not. I will unload all but one if they actually sell more than a grand each.
