Nice. I really liked the patches you layered at the end.

So spill the porage, who was that doing those bass runs? :woot: :ninja:

Nice Job! On first play this seems kind of disjointed (as do most heavy prog instrumentals) but after a few listens it flows well and you get used to the way the different sections work off each other. I like the extra flavor the bass brings.

Sound quality is impressive. I have an axe fx ultra and have never been able to get pro sounds out if it like you have. But that's probably on me...

Kevin Freeby is the bass player. Killer player!

The Axe fx works incredibly well. Especially if you have some good speakers. Don't run the axe fx into reference monitors, which was my first mistake. After speaking with Nolly from the band Periphery, he suggested that you treat the axe fx like a simple guitar set up; guitar-amp-cab-reverb-delay type of set up. Just pick your favorite amp/cab and play. No need to rebias the tubes and change the input resistors, which the unit allows you to do. Great fun stuff but not necessary.

I can send you some of the patches I use. You can upload them via midi using Axe Edit.

Albert,

I'm confused about your comment regarding reference monitors. I would think if you were running a cabinet simulator at the end of your patch, then you would be fine outputing to studio reference monitors.

Studio reference monitors have a flat frequency response, or at least they're supposed to...anyhow, all of the axe fx patches sounded exactly the same until I purchased the M-Audio speakers which are not reference monitors. All of a sudden, the amp/cab sims took on character. Try plugging in your axe fx to a good full range P.A. Tons of fun!

My next purchase will be a set of the KRK speakers for my home recording set up!

Ok, good to know, thanks a lot. I guess I am confused how a Full Range Flat Response speaker and a Studio Monitor differ. At face value they seem like the same thing with different names.
