Spacey Stuff

Postby ElfDude » Sat Apr 23, 2016 4:29 pm

I have a 1966 Baldwin/Burns electric 12-string that I hardly ever play. A few days ago I got it out and started having a little fun with it. There's something about an electric 12-string that just makes me start playing mellow, spacey stuff. So I decided to record it. But there's Carvin in there too! We have my trusty old LB76 fretless bass and the lead was done on my SH225.

That was bittersweet and supercool, elf! I really liked that... your leads that you wove through the shimmering 12 string parts, they were played in a sweet spot that I love to riff in... it's major but at the same time has a longing and a depth to it that pulls at people's stomachs.

Great work! Keep em coming! :applause: :applause:

Very cool!!! It has a Led Zeppelin's The Rain Song meets The Allman Brothers' Melissa vibe to it which I really like.

Thank you for the kind words, all.

I guess I should also point out, this is the first time I ever tried recording guitar parts using the Line Out on the back of the Vintage 16. Turns out it sounds fine and is really easy to work with.
