Question about color combos for finishes

Postby Kaia Be » Mon Apr 10, 2017 8:10 am

I'm not yet in the market for this guitar, but for my 2nd Kiesel I was thinking of inquiring how much a custom paint job would be, if I wanted to get a very special 3-color fade.

After I get the Purple DC800 I'm waiting for, I'm hoping to order another DC800 with a White (middle) -> Pink -> Blue (Edges) burst on a maple top. Is that possible, and what kind of upcharge would I be looking at for that kind of paint job?

I think two major questions are: are the colors you are using their standard colors or at least ones that have done before, or are your asking them to use custom colors? Another is: transparent, solid, or metallic? A custom color they don't already have, I believe, is $200 for non-metallic and $300 for metallic....and if multiple colors are custom, you can see how that would add up!

The "Deep Blue Flame" would be the blue.
As for the Pink, I believe I saw a bass in a Facebook Kiesel Owners Group that the owner titled "Highlighter Pink" on his bass's picture. It came from Kiesel, so I'd hope that it could be done!!
If possible, i would love to see it transparent on a Flame top.

Have you seen their Cotton Candy finish package? I know it doesn't have white, and the exact colors may not be right, but at least it's blue and pink on flamed maple. :)

I'm with you...I much prefer darker-on-the-outside bursts.

The custom Jeff-done finishes (Venom, Earth, Flame, Artic) seem to all be around $600 + the cost of the woods. I don't *THINK* they include the color-treated fretboard, which I think starts out at $200 for their least-expensive one-color options, and goes up from there especially when you get a burst or fade.
