HH1 JCustom headpiece

Postby Kirk » Mon Aug 21, 2017 3:29 pm

When locking in single-ball end strings at the headpiece, the wrench that came with the guitar was never a very snug fit. Other wrenches I've tried were no better, so I kept using the provided one.

Now those locking screws are finally starting to strip--one of them is already nearly unusable. The strings I prefer are not available in a double-ball end variety; otherwise I would just do switch to that.

Please let me know how to remedy this. Are replacement locking screws available? Do I need to have a different headpiece installed?

Interesting. Have you tried both metric and imperial wrenches? Sometimes, even if the screw is supposed to be one, a wrench from the other fits better (especially if you have a set that can be in .5mm increments).

Yes I have, unfortunately. And even if I were to find a better wrench at this point, the damage has already been done.

If nobody here has an answer I might suggest calling JCustom themselves. http://www.headlessusa.com/contact-us.htm

I've read that they can be a little hard to get ahold of by email, so phone would probably be best.

JCustom is useless to try to contact (in fact, I have never seen a site or contact information for them anywhere), but the folks at HeadlessUSA will help. Call Don.
