Mini toggle Classic Bolt?
Hey all!
Just a quick question about my new Classic Bolt. It’s an HSS configuration, and I wanted to be sure about the function of the mini toggle under the tone knob. It seems to me that if the toggle is “up” (pointing at the pickups) the humbucker is on, and if it’s “down” (pointing at the floor) it’s functioning as a single coil.
Do I have this correct?

I believe that switch gets you the Tele style 2 pup position of 1 and 3, bridge and neck together. I'd wager that it's full humbucker though I could be wrong.

I’m not certain that’s the way it works in my Bolt.
I’ve seen posts suggesting that you can have the toggle wired to combine pickups, but I understand that to be a special order and the toggle does not seem to affect the sound in any other position on the five way blade selector other than the bridge position.

Ah, here's your answer (pays to google, which I just did for you-- "Carvin Bolt Mini Switch," which took me to this thread)
So there ya go.
With an SSS guitar the mini is an "always-on" switch for the bridge pup. So if it's on and you use the 5 way to select neck only or neck + middle, the bridge is added to the mix.
On HSS Bolts that same switch is just a coil splitter.
So there ya go.

Your Google-fu is stronger than mine. I couldn’t find any relevant info.
BTW, could you repost the link in your thread? For some reason, clicking the link you provided loops back to this thread.
Thanks!

Thanks. That did the trick.
Unfortunately, that still leaves my original question—is “up” the full humbucker? Sounds like it.....

LOL--thanks Spud.. I've got like 5 things going at once at work and wasn't paying attention and grabbed the wrong window's URL. But that was the thread, of course.

Yes. Typically, "up" = normal operation (ex full HB), down = "effect engaged" (ex coil split, or phase, always-on, etc).
