ordering online....

Postby parousia » Sun May 06, 2018 10:07 am

Hi:

I ordered online and ran across some posts that seem to indicate I did my self a disservice.
I wanted satin finish over gloss, but wound of with gloss, which I can live with.

Any thoughts on how true this statement about ordering online is? What would I have missed out on?
Here is what I got, now I won't need to plug in or play without an amp any longer!

AC375
Gunmetal Gray Metallic
Blackburst Edges
Red Cedar Top Acoustic
Mahogany Neck & Body
Headstock To Match Body Finish
Traditional Style Headstock
Ebony Fingerboard

White Pearl Inlay Material
Stainless Med-Jumbo Frets .048" H .103" W
14in Fretboard Radius
Multi-Layer Body Binding
Black Hardware
Elixir Light Bronze .012 - .053
Dunlop Straplocks
White Pearloid Tuner Buttons
Black Ultimate Soft Guitar Case

If you have a clear vision of what you want, there's no real issue with ordering online. If you're either unsure what you want, or are looking for suggestions, then sure...you'd be better off calling.

I ordered my first one online, and it worked out beautifully.

If you wanted satin, it's available online, so that wouldn't have required calling in.

I kind of figured I'd be ok ; I am just looking for a nice guitar to play unplugged as I don't like to plug into gear to work on certain things, I'm lazy. By my experience, if the AC375 feels and plays good I won't even be thinking about aesthetics when playing. My V220 has gloss finish and its fine to by my perspective so the AC375 should be great too.

Thanks for the reply!

I love me 375! Keep in mind that the AC375 has a wider nut (1.75") and longer scale (25.5") than your V220(1-11/16" wide, 25" scale). It's more like an acoustic-feeling neck, at least to me. Not thick front-to-back, though. Their CC275 is the one that has a more electric-like neck...but that one is more expensive because it comes with a flamed maple top standard, so gunmetal isn't really an option on that one.

I played an acoustic at the Carvin Showroom in San Diego and loved it, I think it had to be an AC375 it had steel strings and wasn't a Signature Model. I loved it! Hence this order.

I also love my V220 too! I went back and forth on what to get, but at the end of the day I had to be true to my habits and needs. I needed something that played better than an acoustic and was an acoustic; not a jazz guitar, not a classical guitar, not $4000 and not made overseas...
