Dang! Still waiting. Update: It's on its way!

Postby Bob C » Wed Oct 25, 2017 3:41 pm

I don't want to be "that guy" and I don't want to contact Kiesel. But I saw what I'm almost positive was my bass (completed) on the facebook page on October 16. That was 10 1/2 weeks from the day I ordered it.

Great, but now 9 days has passed with no FedEx email and no bass at my door. Is this normal or should I be freaking out?

Sometimes those instruments haven't been through QC yet, and it's possible it took some extra buffing, etc. No need to "panic", but I would say it's not out of line to call.

Hey spudmunkey,

I was thinking the same thing. It hasn't been THAT long, but I know of other folks who've received their instrument a week after it was on fb.

It's also *possible* that it wasn't my bass that I saw. BUT it had the exact same specs, the most obvious one being that it was a lefty.

I had emailed my sales guy, Mike Jones after 5 weeks just to make sure things were rolling. He responded pretty quickly and positively. I hate to bug him, but knowing (or suspecting) that it's "out there" makes me antsy.

Once the orders in place, there's not much they will be able to tell you about it until it's close to shipping. If a week and a half ago would have been 10 and a half weeks, that puts you at 12 weeks, and there was a bass that looked very close. That totally is reasonable for a check-in! There's always the off chances that it did ship and you just didn't get the email, or the even rarer circumstance that there was some flaw that couldn't be fixed and required a re-build. 12 weeks is enough time to check in, I think. :)

Yeah, I'm not worried. Just wrestling with it. Sometimes the fb photos are of uncompleted guitars - often not yet with bridges or strings. But this one was done.

If you don't want to be a pest, and to reiterate I think the timing is appropriate that it's reasonable, you could always reach out to Mike Jones, Chris Hong, etc on FB with a private/direct message (or possibly even on the forum here with a PM).

Lol i'm beginning to worry too, week 10 will be done by november 1st.

The wait is harder when you ask for a custom finish and you have no clue if it will look right :stir: ! I would be sleeping well If I asked a simple jet black guitar lol.

That actually makes me feel better - like, things are just a bit backed up. Is that the white/white one? Looks like you ordered just a few days after I did.

My bass is done. Case is back-ordered. Crazy, huh? I posted about it in gnp's white/white thread.

Right? I was actually getting bored of the wait, but now I'm excited all over again! I've already looked at it lots of times on Facebook, but the thrill of the "in person" unveiling is unbeatable. That, and the "new case" smell. Aaaaahhhh.

Hijack is okay. I did the same to you. We are brothers in waiting. Looking forward to your NGD pics and review.
