Show me dat Ash!

Postby spudmunkey » Mon Jun 29, 2020 11:47 am

Ugh. Pardon the pun, but...it had to be made, right? Like how every time you pull out a stud finder, you are obligated to put it to your chest, beep, and proclaim, "Found one!", right?

Aaaaaany way. :)

There's an Antique Ash group, so here's I guess a place where all ashes are welcome. Contoured ash, flat ash, and ash of any color. As long as it's swampy! :laughhard:

This is my SH6. The back is ash, with trans black gloss over it. Top is burled maple, in Aqua Candy.

This is almost a two-fer. The 3D sort of butcher-block-looking art piece on the wall (made it myself) is also made from all end-grain ash (northern).

This was my President's day sale splurge. DCM7 raw tone trans aqua over AAT. It's just a nice, simple and clean build. The AAT and trans finishes work great with raw tone IMO. Coupled with a roasted maple neck, they have this great organic and rustic feel to them.

It's funny how "stripped down" for Kiesel means a 3-step step finish, roasted maple, multiscale, stainless frets, luminlay side dots... :laughhard: That's a beauty!

One of the all-time great ash builds (the "silver snd teal" Bolt Plus with the covered neck pickup, since this BBS's doesn't keep the embedded image in a quote...)

Well considering everything you mentioned that isn't already standard was a no cost or discounted option for President's Day, it was "stripped down" on my wallet. :-)

If I hadn't opted for the Fluence upgrade, that build would've been under $1500 shipped. Hell of a deal.
