I heard that!
I bought all my Carvin gear (except for the Nomad) between marriages.

Yeah, my wife was the same, but how often did you have to "redo a room" or "save for a vacation"? I'd rather have another Carvin than a remodeled bathroom or a trip that's over in a week; a Carvin is forever!

My wife wouldn't complain if I bought another Carvin. But I've promised her a new violin and I've got to come good on that before I build another.

I am blessed to have a wife like her. I had a horrible first wife and many witches in between. I wish I could buy her a Stradivarius. She deserves 2.

Thanks Rock! She knows and I tell her all the time, which is, BTW, some of the best advice I can give anyone. Tell them her how you feel all the time.

Now, these darned violins are expensive. Then you have the bow which can be even more than the violin! How can a little strip of wood cost $3K?!?!? Boggles my mind.

She is the first woman that does not hassle me about the time and money spent on playing, buying or modifying my guitars. She is even tolerant when I make the house shake with my Boogies. In her words "I'd rather have you home playing your guitars than out in the bars or out with friends getting into trouble".

OK, I can't resist. Here we are!

That's an awesome story, Scrapinger. As a wife myself, the only thing I would be concerned about if she read this post is that the thread is for posting pictures of your " Carvins and your pets" ! Jk :D

That is a truly beautiful pic. What a gorgeous dress and the backdrop is wonderful. I showed my Mrs. Crue. She loved it. :D

Thread digression:

While the couple in the pic is obviously in love ( ) making it beautiful, I'm going to have to disagree on the backdrop rockcrue. It's too angular, sterile and bleak creating a jarring juxtaposition with the warmth from the couple. Unless the building had some significance to them, it just detracts from the overall pic. In addition, there is just no color - even the bouquet is lost because its so tiny.

Sorry...years and years of running an art store...

Or maybe I'm just bitter after my divorce last year....

Meh, don't be bitter, if it wasn't there, it wasn't there. I told my wife, if we ever got divorced, I just don't know what I would do.... First....

(Getting thie timing right when typing is tough, lol).

It's in the eye of the beholder. I've had many a comment on that photo. Many people love it. I, for one, love juxtaposition, and use it in a lot of my photography.

I told her about this thread and she approves. :D

THIS I APPROVE OF!!!!!

My wife is the same way as long as we can afford it she gives me no grief in buying music equipment. Though you promised your wife a violin, I promised mine a new laptop so she can write before I buy any more gear. My wife is the love of my life and don't deserve her.

3k is quite reasonable for a violin. I would spend at least 5 though - they get really nice at that price point... My bow (i'm a bassists) was 1k.... I've got around 15k into my upright so to me buying my Carvin Icon was a steal!
