CT7 club!

Postby Appollyon » Sun Feb 17, 2013 11:55 am

Thought I would start this group even though I guess it could fall under the CT club. I got my CT74 with an alder body, walnut top, white diamond all around, BBE, walnut neck, ebony board, mop inlays:

You know I'm in. Here's my brand new pair. Dig your diamond pearl white. Totally classic.

We got a nice "metallic" group starting here! :D My heart really is with wood grain, but Carvin's metallics, especially on the CT models, is really growing on me. I don't know which of yours I like better. I think I'm leaning towards that yellow; that beauty just GLOWS!

Love yours with the TO neck and the natural binding to carry it over into the body. Looking forward to the spalted.

I'm raised in the 80's so I like my bright guitar colors. Its always a toss-up whether I like these crazy pearl/metallics or the wood grains best. I just have to keep buying both types of finishes! Carvins colors are truly some of the best in the industry. I know I want another CT7 or two but I'm having a heck of a time deciding what color next! Metallic purple, gold top, and trans-pink are on the list.

I'm also an 80's child (class of '88 - doesn't get more 80's than that!), but somewhere along the lines I just fell in love with either trans paint to show grain or au natural wood.

Purple, gold or trans pink... You see the PS in that other thread? That pinkish red mockup looked sweet. I'd stay away from gold if I were you - too similar to the yellow. Id go metallic purple; it'd complete a sweet trio! :D

Thanks, bob! Should be done in a week!

I used to be all pearl/metallic solid finishes. I guess about 7 or 8 years ago I really started getting into natural woods. For the next one, it kinda depends on the actual gold they use for the gold top. I've seen it fluctuate a bit. I was thinking natural binding/maple top with a mahogany back for contrast. But yeah, I'm leaning more towards met. purple, or trans-pink, or something more opt 50-ish. They don't make it easy to decide.

Wow, those pix are even better than your NGD post Appollyon. That DWP really glows in the sun.

Metallic Yellow still in wallpaper mode on my laptop.

Um, I have not seen a CT7 I didn't like. And i think a CT7 thread is good. I would like to respectfully say I wonder if a "7" club wouldn't give us a stronger showing of support for the seven strings now and in the future with Carvin.

I am really hoping the success of the DC800, DC700 and CT7'S along with the DC7X7's will inspire Carvin to add at least a couple more Carvin 7's to the models to choose from. Other seven strings I think would do well, or be "worth it" to Carvin are -

Ultra V7 and a symmetrical V7 with pronounced bevels [or a bevel option for both]
X220-7
CS7
C77 [based on the C66]
TLB7 [the world needs more Tele style 7's  ]
"Kit" 7 strings based on the GK1/P and TLK Kits. [contour the heels a bit more]

I will join the CT7 club before too long when the 27" scale can be ordered :) Will you let 27" CT7's in the club? I should not assume that I suppose ha...
[2] DC7X 27", Loomis 26.5", S7G 27.5", Walden CE550, Ibanez 7 nylon string.
My Kiesel wish list - All 7 strings. All 27" scale option.
New symmetrical V7X, X227X, TL7X, C77X Bolt [smooth heel]
Semi-Hollow CT7. Head or Headless [CODA's photoshop]

The more sevens the better! I mean, I love my DC800's, but my heart will always be with seven strings. And, yes, when Carvin puts out their 27" scale, it'll definitely belong here. Mine will be one of the first pictures here!

ah Rodrico, you must have forgotten the rock star motto
--------------------------------------
First comes the engagement ring

Then comes the wedding ring

Then comes the suffering
-------------------------------------

:P Just kidding. Best always.

[man I would hate to be the band at his wedding haha, he can play ya know lol]

I want to own a Carvin 7 string someday. Until then I'll have to practice on my Ibby!

Like you guys my preference is for bright colored 80's guitars. If there isn't a beautiful wood grain to look at I want it to have colors brighter than the sun and louder than Motorhead and faster looking and playing than a Ferrari. I wish they had a Metallic Light Pink along the lines of the Pearl Pink, or just bring Pearl Pink back.
