Though not engraved, it's definitely personalized...

Not personalized as such. Bought it off ebay, but it looks nice.

I would get personalized truss rod covers for mine, but I'm not really privy to where I could get them, or what I would have on them. Ha.

OK folks - where can I get something like this? My Carvin guitar was used and as such didn't have the original TRC affixed probably because it had the original owners name on it.

Any good places to recommend?

Yes, Carvin will sell you one any time. Just call it in so you can get the engraving you want.
Otherwise, there are lots of suppliers on the web for the more exotic ones.

I got my maple one done by nicholsinlay.com. It was a little spendy, and you have to make sure you get the right size as Carvin has changed them through the years. I was able to pick the pattern and materials and I think it looks great. Basic woodworking skills would allow most anyone to make a solid wood TRC on their own.

Good luck and be sure to share pics if you get one.

John

I'll also add that you might have a local source that has a lot of options in terms of fonts and styles. I found one locally by searching for "engraving" on maps.com.

Good luck, and share some pics when you get a chance :)

Do they count if Carvin personalized it?

I don't mind in the least, go right ahead! We even have the same inlays on the fretboard.

Okay, I'll play. This is what's on my TLB60 koa body kit-built guitar that I call "Spirit". The name on the TRC was given to me by a Lakota friend (I'm Abenaki) and means "He Who Makes Laughter", or "He Who Makes People Happy".
