Haha yeah that's a different guitar for sure. My picture was the back of my c66.

I was just showing that to share the grain and color was just the same.

Same as Rabihz one too

Mbardu's guitars are so beautiful, and I think I actually like the purple back more than that amazing dream burst top! I can't wait to see the back of my own guitar : DC145 with direct mount pickups is definitely a win.
Now maybe translucent purple black limba as Evster suggested! Or translucent orange black limba!
If I ever decide for another guitar maybe I would go translucent orange black limba DC7x or a yet to be produced HH7x. Wow!

Hmm...I'm not 100% certain that's it. It looks like it might have an extra knob hole, and already looks like it's got glossy on it. I don't believe there is a clearcoat between the black stain and the color layer...but I'm just as likely to be wrong as I am right. :)

Edit: OK, looking at the knobs again, it might be it...but the finish is still perplexing me.

I was wondering about the clear also?
Everything else looks right!
Is it deep triple step? Maybe part of that process?

It has three layers of Primer added. This will be sanded off, then two layers of color will be added, and finished off with three layers of clear coat.

The deep stain is added prior to the wood primer. So that it can sink into the grains of the wood (then the primer fills the wood pores).
If it were the other way around, the deep stain process would not work ;-).

I watched the video of making Tonekings Dragonburst DC600, presented by Jeff Kiesel, and it looked exactly the same after applying the wood primer :D

I wondered myself, but how many SC90 with the DC127 control layout are build at present?
Here are the video series, with the link directly to the finish/paint process. I needed to make sure myself

It's actually a series of 6 videos from start to finish, and a valueable insight in the build process.

I was thinking it just looks wet, like primer waiting to dry. The electronics look as Bredo described them ... I think it's yours Bredo, and it's looking sweet.

Thanks Geddy :D

I was asking for an even tight flame, and I do think they delivers

Please look at the video series. It starts with how to order, and follows through the whole process, towards packing and shipping.
The two last videos are an unboxing and a test video.

That inside look shows how much work (and love) Carvin put into our guitars. And I won't think about how much this would have cost us, if we asked some other well known brands to do the same customization for us. To make every guitar unique.

Here are the whole playlist. Includes 9 videos from order to test. You can skip the first one about how to order. That is 40 min long.
The others, video 2 through 7 are about 5-7 min long:

Bredo, I'm rooting that this one's yours. It certainly looks sweet! Since the Facebook preview shots started getting posted I've seen 2 of mine in production. When you see your guitar, somehow you just know it. I equate it to looking in the nursery room at 40 newborns and immediately recognizing your own child. (Like that happens in real life, right?) But you get the idea. The same holds true when you hold it in your hands and play it for the first time; there's definitely a bonding that takes place, (hopefully). So if your gut tells you it's yours, then you have to go with it. Now hurry home to papa, little Carvin, hurry home! :)

Thanks Coda.
Yes I would like to think I recognized my own child :D

Besides that, I learned some things about the process of building a Carvin through those videos. Have you seen them?

PS. I also have had two of my last builds showing up in the Preview shots, and it is exactly as you describe it

I bow down in awe and humbleness my friends, with an easy :)

So far it look like Carvin (and their magical salesman) hit it out of the park again.

Whatever they do with sanding, paint, 3 layers of clear coating, buffing, setup etc, will only make this better. And absolutely in line with my inner vision.

Kudos to Carvin, and cheers to all my inspiring Carvin friends :applause: :applause: :applause:
