AE185 Club

Hello, new to the board and to Carvin as well. Just inherited an AE 185 in mint condition over the weekend. Having played around with it a bit I'm loving all the different tonal possibilities....but I'm wondering when I changed the strings if I did something wrong. Not used to stringing a guitar with locking tuners.....problem is when I try to bend anywhere from the 7th fret and higher....its difficult. Meaning...to bend up a whole step I run into the string above...like its a string tension issue or something..its unusually loose. However this is not a problem at all in the lower frets....like 5th fret and below. So it makes me think I didn't string the guitar properly??

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Here's a link to Carvin's guitar manual. It has stringing instructions. When you string a guitar with locking tuners you want to make sure that you have less than a full winding on the tuner post- more like 1/2 to 3/4 a winding.
