^^That's some luscious wood, arahobob. Seeing the pores and grain up close is a great reminder how individual each guitar is, and that each piece of wood used to be a living plant. Humbling, IMHO. :)

Thanks Coda!

No flame, no bird's eye.
Just a humble piece of Rosewood, but it certainly looks cool when you get up close and personal!

I am definitely a minimalist when it comes to inlays.

And this one I don't guess counts because it's a fretless with inlayed fret lines, 2003 B4F

It's lemon oil and new strings day! (And the house smells soo good.)

Image

Ebony and birdseyeeee live together in perfect harmony side by side on by basses' fingerboards, oh Lord, why don't weeeee?

The fretted B40 has a beautiful birdseye maple fretboard, the figure in which always manages to elude the camera, no matter what I do :?

I played a guitar with no inlays today for the first time, and it was totally fine. No worries about losing my place.

I then played a guitar that had a vines/leaves/flowers inlay pattern, and it was so distracting, I lost my place twice. :-p
