This group buy was a way to get some upgrades and unique finishes at a less-upgraded price.

What *I* would love to see is a group buy on a less expensive guitar without any "extra" options to get a great guitar at an even better price. Like...a Bolt, DC600 (or something) group buy. Alder, ash or mahogany bodies, maple necks, single-color finishes only, etc.

yeah, I would like that as well. I have a DC600 in the oven all Hog, plain Maple top, and DPW finish all over. Would have loved to get a small discount on that.

This one above is just purple, fading into clearer and clearer purple, right? Is that the description of the "California burst"

If so, I much prefer the idea if actual pink, purple and blue!!

Yeah, but I'm wondering if it's too similar. I'll try to find the ps.

Man, all of these cali burst's are just so impressive. The aqua one looks like glacial ice. But those yellow and orange ones along with the baked finish on the fretboard seriously wins me over. Congrats guys, on scoring not just a stellar guitar but really cool piece of history here too.

Cheers,

These Calibursts are just TOOOO COOOOL 8) Congrats to all the lucky buyers!!! And though I'm majorly impressed with all of them I gotta say I'm a tad partial to the purple: extra grats to App & Spam on that one!!! (That's actually the general idea I was going for on my Lavender Burst DC600 earlier this year.)

Really awesome to see this kind of turn out in so many stellar bursts. It's a downright nebula out here these days!! :applause: :applause: :applause:

Lol, I had no idea this club existed. Bovine mentioned it in another thread, so I came here to drop some purple love, and my guitar is already here. It's the purple one in the pics Amy posted.
I took a few quick snaps the day I got it, those are posted in the photo gallery, but I'll have to take some new ones for this forum.

Me and Appollyon have twinsies! If I had to do it all over again though, I would make some changes. The board isn't very purple, probably would have gotten the 'baked' look knowing what they look like in real life, and SS frets.. I like SS better than the gold, there is a difference in slickeriness. Other than that, don't think I'd change a thing.

The fronts on these things are just beautiful.
Some of these cali bursts are too amazing, and everyone of these treated finger boards is a winner.

I cannot for some reason get into the look of the AAT body wings with the bare maple/walnut necks.
They just look bizarre and unfinished to me. Grey up again the maple....I don't know.
I wonder if the AAT could go over the neck woods too?

Technically it is impossible. Even if the dye stuck, it would have to be called AMT, not AAT. Can only call it Antique Ash Treatment if the wood is actually ash, lol.
