re: Vader Club (All flavors welcome!)Ask and thou shall receive. An Ibanez RG on the bottom.

re: Vader Club (All flavors welcome!)While I don't think I'm seeing a huge difference in this case, probably important to note Ibanez doesn't typically use actual tops of any meaningful thickness, almost always veneers, which would probably mean it's apples to oranges. This example does happen to have a flamed maple veneer though.
re: Vader Club (All flavors welcome!)![]() ![]() ![]() I was actually thinking the same thing. Is it my imagination, or is the Vader's body actually wider than the RG?
re: Vader Club (All flavors welcome!)Not by much, if at all. I think I bumped it and they weren't 100% lined up neck-wise. I think overall body thickness is about the same, if you look at the input jacks.
The Vader's thickness is a bit tricky to look at since it's beveled on the back and gives the illusion of being a little bit thinner than it is. I think I'm going to grab a ruler later and lay both flat on the table for measurements.
re: Vader Club (All flavors welcome!)Surprised this club doesn't have more members. Here's mine.

re: Vader Club (All flavors welcome!)I'll be able to join the fun in about 14 weeks!
re: Vader Club (All flavors welcome!)I'd love to see a set neck Vader with a no top one or two piece body made of really well balanced (sonically), premium wood. Like a solid chunk of beautifully figured flame or quilt maple, or a really sweet cut of dense limba. . . or of course koa. Myrtlewood, redwood or some very old eastern pine? A nice rounded neck heel like the 150's of yore or the HH of today. Even the right cut of well figured (Honduran or African, doesn't matter much so long as the piece is right) mahogany.
That would REALLY get my jaws slavering! Carvin Weaponry:

They can do it on the multi-scale Aries, DCM and K series, if nothing else.

Re: Vader Club (All flavors welcome!)Here's the build I'm planning to place today. Very simple build. I'd like to have opinions about the neck choice. I'm looking only for neck stability, not looks. So I chose to get a 5 piece neck option but I'd like to understand if 5MP - 5-Piece Maple Neck w/ 2 Purple Heart Stripes $180.00 would be worth it against a 5 piece maple neck.
Any inputs/comments? Thanks! edit: changed build a bit Code: Select all Your Cart: Creating a Guitar Telegram Group (in English) Guitar Telegram Group
Re: Vader Club (All flavors welcome!)So just for fun, I am thinking of a V6X. My only question- Lithiums or Holdsworths for basic "classic" rock tones? No metal or high gain. Decent cleans. I have the Holdsworths in my HH2X, have heard general opinions that the Lithiums are very bright?
Re: Vader Club (All flavors welcome!)
I would definitely go with the lithiums. I play mostly rock, funk, fusion, and jazz. I do all of this with the Vader. I can't say enough good things about the tone of the pickups.
