If you click on the Artists section of the website, they still have the large vertical banner on the right side showing John McVie as endorser of the AC40 acoustic electric bass - a model that is discontinued. Sort of odd.

There's another new thread now with a question about how to find out your estimated completion date. Geeze.

This gives me an idea.

A while back on FB vid Jeff mentioned selling a product called "The Kiesel Experience" -- which they have already done for some -- where you plop down x amount of money and can visit them in the factory, pick out the woods for body, neck, board, top, etc and personally help lay out your own build with their involvement, etc etc.

What about a product called "The Customer Experience" where you plop down xyz amount of money and they personally concierge your experience with:
*an email from accounting confirming necessary payment has been received to get your build started (rather than the build not started due to debit glitch, and not knowing that, and no communication)
*an email from accounting confirming all/final payments have been received (or not, immediately upon completion of your build) and your axe is eligible to ship (rather than finished axe held in shipping awaiting a payment that was supposedly already done)
*an email with the location and pic of your serial number on your specific axe
*an email on alternating weeks with one pic attached showing its location in the build process, and an update on the estimated completion date
*an extra set of strings and tuners in the case
*a tshirt in the case, your size and choice of styles
*a call with Mike Jones in the first week answering your questions about what the knobs do, and other questions

I wonder how much they would agree to as a price for that kind of customer experience?

My point is that some customers would want The Kiesel Experience, and other customers would want The Customer Experience, and some would want both and would gladly pay for both.

Just an idea.

And, I don't see that as too. They also have artists shown playing other discontinued models like a TL 70 and a CL 450. While they no longer make those instruments, those instruments still represent the same manufacturer, so to speak, so it's still an endorsement. Like, if a famous model or actor wears a Rolex, it almost matters less about what the model is, more just a simple fact that it is a Rolex.

If it was not a huge ad banner it would make more sense to me.

Craig Chaquico isn't even playing his own model, in his banner.

steve vai kep playing the legacy 1 amp for the longest time even after the legacy 2 and 3 came out  Holdsworth did not play his signature guitars that often either...at least not until the headless design came out.

At times this whole thing with instruments/gear with artists names attached to them gets silly...but I understand why it's done.

Ahhh.,,interesting. Didn't know that. Those bogner amps are really good.

But what an interesting similarity in the names: Legacy/Ecstasy

More like the Letchstacy with that picture.
We are entitled to our own, wrong, opinions.

Guitar theorem: G=X+1 where G= guitars one needs, and X = guitars one has.

Do or do not; there is no understand.

Two nights ago, my Icon 5 narrowly avoided damage.

I had a girl over for a couple of days. We have been friends for about 5 months. After a very fun day in the wonders of the Pacific Northwest, we were home around 4pm.

However, she had been smoking weed all day. At least 4 bowls, probably more. (I dont smoke. But I have a sizeable stash, which she was abusing). She started smoking more, as soon as we got home. And started drinking wine. At some point, she announced she was getting into the shower, but would first have a shot of tequila. I said that I wanted her to wait until later. Be cause I wasn't feeling comfortable.

She exploded on me for trying to "control" her. She went on to say many very nasty things. She ended up throwing a pot of radishes I had cooling on the stove (ruined the pot. It stopped short of a GIANT mirror), she smashed a mason jar on the floor with ziplocks of weed in it, and she threw a glass of wine at me. I dodged the glass. It hit my ultimate soft case and somehow didn't break. No wine got on me. My Icon was laying out on the arms of a chair. Wine was puddled on the body wings and a few drops on the fretboard. Thankfully, no stains.

The pot of radishes was actually the last thing and then I told her to get her things and leave. Turns out, she had already had two glasses of wine and two shots. So, she couldn't drive. we packed her things into her SUV. I made her ride separate in a cab, I drove her vehicle to the hotel and payed for her night to stay. Before I was finally able to walk home, she accused me of being PAYED by her ex, to abuse her.

You need to change your name to Neo, as you seem to have dodged several bullets that night. 8)

It was as if an "Agent" had suddenly taken over her body!

Now i suddenly want a...hmm...I don't have a 7-string, so maybe this would be the a good build for it...

SH7 (stop-tail) or Crecent with C hole
Graphite finish on Quilted maple with soft trans black burst
Black-painted binding
Clear Ash back and sides
Black covered pickups with...hmm...silver pole pieces
Black hardware, with abalone-topped knobs
BEM fretbord with offset (not staggered) abalone dots.
CT headstock, body matching, abalone logo.
Piezo
Stainless frets.

Carvin sighting. The GC in Overland Park, Kansas.

(BTW I literally laughed on my way in the store, as I had to hold two doors for a DRUMMER and some unfortunate that was with him - their arms were full. I said to my youngest, "Really? We have to hold doors for out of town other drummers too?")

(Also BTW not one single person spoke to us in the store for the 20 min we were in there.)

The sighting was a used 4 string with a Carvin label on a traditional headstock. The finish seemed Trans white but not really white. Did they do these back then? Traditional headstock. TRC missing. Deep ding/gouge in the wood near the player side near the FB.

It looks like the retired B4. They did indeed have a trans white finish years ago that I think was only done on ash at the time.

Nice catch Brian! I've got a cousin that lives in Overland Park. He's a drummer but don't hold it against him as he's one of my favorite people. Hope you have a good visit!!
